“Nice family restaurant, but recent competition in the area leaves it in the dust.”
Reviewed April 17, 2011

My family has dined here for over 20 years. Not much has changed. The fried fish has always been a favorite. The buffet is somewhat bland and not a large selection. The price is reasonable, and the service for the most part is good. the restaurant is really showing it's age, and not in a good way. In the 1990s I would highly recommend this place, but now with some many other restaurants nearby this place is not even in contention. Either tyis place needs to build a niche market, improve on its course entrees / restaurqnt ambience or fade in the sunset. There are still a large amount of old loyal customers, but I doubt this restaurant will be able to entice many new customers. I hope Russell's make the improvements as it's one of the few remaining family owned restaurants in the area.

“" Forget about it "”
Reviewed January 18, 2011

This is some of the worst food that i have ever had in my life. Fried and so-much greasy tasting food. Me and my wife ate there once, and that was once to many times. It is a surprise to us that this restaurant can find enough people to come back more than one time. If people in this area like this slop, theres just no accounting for taste..!!!!!!!!!

“Family owned and a Southern experience”
Reviewed November 6, 2009

This is so much better than the standard buffet.

We went on a Sunday and it seemed like everyone comes here after church. There is a feeling of community gathering and family in the dining room. The owners came by to check on us and the staff is always on hand with more tea.

Lots of vegetables, fish and fried chicken and the peach cobbler is hot, and topped with ice cream. We loved it.

“Southern Buffet”
Reviewed December 11, 2008

A very good Southern Cooking buffet restaurant. The cost is less than $10 and they serve a huge assortment of favorites such as fried chicken, chicken and dumpling, meatloaf, fried seafood and many vegetables including real mashed potatoes, and fried okra. You will not leave hungary!
