“You Get What you Pay For!!!”
Reviewed May 17, 2007

If you want CHEAP that's what you will get. Everything is old! The bathroom was dirty. The grout was in sad need of cleaning. The tub was so old & stained, we wouldn't even take showers. The towels were clean but ripped and torn! The mirror was losing it's backing. The counter tops need to be replaced. The lights on the ceiling had dead bugs in the covers. The carpet was dark, worn and old! The screen was broken. What more can I say. You get what you pay for!!! Never again!!!

My family and I, along with a family friend, wanting to get out of town for the weekend and take in some small town offerings (Ava Gardner Museum - Outlet stores - Flea Markets), while avoiding the holiday crowds, chose to go about 1&1/2 hrs from home. I selected this motel after reading the reviews and then calling to get a price. It is a nice, locally owned operation. If your looking for all the comforts of home, you came to the wrong place, but don't let this deter you. For the overnighter traveling up/down I-95 this is a good deal (2 ppl - $5@ extra per). Motel entrance actually sits right in the middle of the on/exit ramp on Northbound side. Styling may be a bit unique, actually feels like a campground/cabin, but comfortable all the same. A/C didn't cool the room as well as would have liked though. *If you need an Internet connection this is dial-up, you need your own service provider.

All-in-all we were pleasantly surprised with this motel and enjoyed our weekend getaway.

I have been stayin at this motel ever since i was born and I am 20 years old now. It's so convenient, right off of I-95 and not expensive at all! The people are nice and the rooms are clean. I stay there at least twice a year when I go to SC for vacation. The only time I didn't stay there was the first time I didn't make a reservation and go figure all the rooms were full. We had to stay at The Jameson Inn across the street for $90 something and it wasn't even worth it.

This old fashioned motel seems like it is out of the 50s with old furnishings and appliances. It is on one floor and seems to go on for 2 blocks. Its rates are very low, and they give a senior discount. Pets are allowed for a small charge. Breakfast is minimal-a hot beverage and donuts. There is a low priced local restaurant on the premises that is closed on Sunday.
They have an 800 # for reservations and we stop there each year on our way to Florida, as do many others, judging by the number of cars there each night. The location is convenient, right off I-95, exit 95, but getting to the motel can be somewhat tricky. It is on the west side of the interstate, just by the north bound exit.

To those that comment that this motel is awful, I say "Fine, then go up the street and pay twice as much!" The Village Motor Lodge is an older motel, but it's clean and roomy with vaulted ceilings and for the price, you can't beat it! Friendly staff and a Pool and playground for the kids. Laundry on site....what else can you ask for at only around $30 a night??? My husband and I stay there every year when we make trips to RI to see relatives. Never been disappointed.

We've stayed at the Village Moter Lodge several times now over the past five years on trips to the Outer Banks and To visit family in RI. It's not a top notch fancy motel, but has the charm and hominess of an older, well kept family run motel. The people were super nice, the price was very reasonable and the restaurant on site is wonderful. If you're looking for Marriot or Hilton, this won't be your thing, but for a stop over in a safe, clean and comfortable place, you really can't beat it. Located near outlet stores, Carolina Pottery Outlet, JR's and Ruby Tuesdays.

I-95 overnight stop - certainly not the best but certainly not the worst. New Air Conditioners have been installed but the bathrooms could certainly use an update. Remember, this is a $29 per night room, not the Hilton. Dollar for dollar, it's hard to beat.
