“Great BBQ Joint”
Reviewed August 17, 2014

We were driving by looking for a place to eat. Saw this interesting place with a very full parking lot and stopped in. All they serve is pork -- pulled or sliced. Very inexpensive, very good! Great place to stop if you are in the area just outside of Charlotte.

“good food, good service”
Reviewed August 13, 2014

Stopped bye for lunch today and the place was packed at noon. Turns out there's a national baseball tournament going on in Shelby. The counter was full so I took a booth. I was waited on immediately. I ordered the sliced pork, which comes with hushpuppies and vinegar based coleslaw. You get your money's worth in food and a mini pitcher of sweet tea. As a member of the North Carolina BBQ Society and an accredited NC BBQ judge, I can say the Q was satisfying in taste, and tenderness. Well done.

“Down home diner with an atmosphere!”
Reviewed August 9, 2014

Loved this place from the minute we stepped into the place. Absolutely the best barbecue we have ever had. The place caught our eye on a recent trip to the mountains. We drove by and had to do a U-turn. It was well worth it. The food was excellent, wait staff friendly and efficient. I initially though it was a little pricey but when we got our food it was worth every penny. Large portions are the norm, you definitely get your moneys worth. We ended up getting some to take out and had it for lunch the next day as a picnic, that was a great idea. We would have stopped on our way back home as well but they are closed on Sundays and Mondays. We will be back!

“Friendly staff”
Reviewed August 6, 2014 via mobile

We actually sat with a lovely couple we met in line--which was out the door--always a good sign. However, it was not a place I would recommend to anyone from Texas or other hardcore BBQ lovers who prefer their meat smoked. Very friendly waitstaff...

“The sauce is gold”
Reviewed July 29, 2014 via mobile

The best thing about this place is the BBQ sauce. It's great. The BBQ chicken is fabulous too. The hush puppies are good, but not always consistent. No ribs. No hash. No brisket. Just pulled/sliced pork and chicken. Would like more variety.
