“Bed Bugs!”
Reviewed June 25, 2012

Be careful here... my son and his girlfriend's family spent Saturday night here as a resting point on their drive down to Florida from New Jersey. By Sunday my son was covered with more than 40 bites! The hotel staff said that they had had problems with bed bugs in the past, but not in his room.... really? They should know that bed bugs are very insidious and they and their eggs can be carried around by bags, clothing, bottoms of shoes, etc. I understand that sometimes this can't be helped, especially nowadays with the resurgence of bed bugs since new pesticide regulations were put in place. But I know that I would want to know if someplace I intended to stay has bed bugs. I also know that sometimes hotels do not handle this situation properly and try to sweep these things under the rug... not sure if or how this hotel is handling it so make sure you check for bed bugs and signs of bed bugs before you check in!!

We made an unplanned stop at the Quality Inn in Selma, NC for one night on our way south. Overall, it was an acceptable stop. The pluses: very clean room and bathroom, above average breakfast, friendly staff. The minuses: fair amount of road noise from I 95, no king sized beds, and a very soft mattress.

We stayed there one night. The room was clean, comfortable, quiet. We will recommend!
p.s.: The clerk that checked us in was a bit rude.

Our room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was pleasant and helpful. This is in an area we had not visited before. If you travel I95 you know where JR's is at exit 97. Well, there is a road to the west parallel to I95 that runs from exit 97 to exit 95. There are at least three motels and three restaurants (Crackerbarrel, Outback steakhouse and a Texas steakhouse). The whole area is nice and clean. We will be staying there again.

Room Tip: Our room was 110. Go for it.

We stayed at this motel on our way down to Florida and brought our dog. The motel is definitely in need of some updating. The lobby appeared old, carpet was a very odd color. The room was small and smelled very strongly of detergent that was overwhelming. The linens were green and seemed relatively new. Pillows were clumpy and the furniture was outdated. The doors all go to the outside too so if it's cold or if you get bothered by people going up and down stairs/cars driving by or if you are traveling by yourself (unsure of how safe it is at night), then it may be too noisy for you. I don't think the hotel was worth 62 dollars a night. The one thing that was really nice was that the staff were all very warm and welcoming.

On our way home from visiting up north we stopped for the night at the Quality Inn, Selma, NC. We stayed there because of the recommendation of a friend who was impressed on how lovely their newly renovated room was. We should have requested that same room number. The clerk that checked us in was rude. Our room appeared to be clean but the furniture was old and the bathroom needed a lot of work. It was only for one night, the price was cheap and you get what you pay for. We were not the only occupants of the room that night. In the middle of the night we discovered roaches on the bathroom counter, it appears they were living behind the coffee maker near the wall. Didn't sleep well after that and we were gone extra early in the morning. Quality Inn, spend some money and get a pest control company.
