We have been to the Rudy many times as a family(extended) and with groups of friends. It has always been entertaining and fun. The venue is a small town movie theatre building, which brings back some memories for some of the older folks in the audience. The performers are both new and seasoned, but always superb. This is always time and money well spent.

This is the second year that I have driven our bus 2 hours with my senior adults to see the American Music Jubilee Christmas show at the Rudy Theater. We really love the show and all the local NC talent. The theater itself is small and can get cramped for the bathroom line but all the employees are friendly and try to help out. The comedy last year was not as corny as this year's comedy. My seniors loved the combination of classic carols and the new ones. The show is entertaining and very affordable. We will continue to have the show as one of our fun Christmas trips!

I attended the matinee on 12/21/12.

The Rudy Theatre was constructed in 1948, and it shows. Although the theatre itself is adequate, the entrance hall is cramped, cold, and dilapidated. Acoustics were pretty good, but the audio system needs improvement. Excellent lighting significantly enhanced the impact of each segment within the show.

The majority of the folks in attendance for the Christmas Show were retirees. Curiously, there
were only a handful of children present.

Individual performances in each segment were uneven. On the plus side, there were a couple of standout performances from the female vocalists. However, there were more than a few moments during the Christmas Show when it seemed that some of the vocals may have been previously recorded.

The weakest part of the show was the comedy routine, which few in the audience found humorous. Many of the jokes and all of the dialogue seemed to have been written for the amusement of a rural farm audience from the 1940s.

The strongest aspect of the show was the performance of the band, which made every Christmas song a delight.

At $14 a head, the American Music Jubilee is good entertainment for locals but probably not worth the trip for folks that live outside North Carolina.

We recently attended the American Jubliee Christmas Show and really enjoyed it. It was a well produced show with excellent music including many of the traditional Christmas carols. The event started at 7:40 with a 5 minute commercial followed by 15 minutes of zany comedy. This corny comedy appeared serveral times in an otherwise great show. There were 6 singers and 5 musicans. The costumes were terrific and changed for each song, really amazing.
People were seated in our seats and wouldn't move. I got an usher who verified it and then left. We went and got another usher who got the people to move.
The music lasted for about 2 hours including a 15 minute break.
