We stayed this past weekend at The Duck Smith B & B. Suzanne and Barbara were wonderful hosts, even allowing us to move rooms during our stay to the king sized Carolina Room downstairs.
The beds were amazingly comfortable, breakfasts were delicious, loved the energy of the house.
We came for a wedding, and these accomodations were the closest to the ceremony, but we will absolutely be back on our own!

Barbara and Suzanne are wonderful hosts for this very comfortable inn that is in the heart of the Seagrove potteries. The rooms are very nice and the breakfast was extremely well done.

If you like pottery this is a grand place to visit. There are over 100 potters spread out over several miles and each one is quite unique. My husband who hates to shop truly loves going in and visiting with them as they are all so friendly and so willing to explain and demonstrate their processes. The Duck Smith House is delightful in every way. Suzanne and Barbara, the two sisters that own it make you feel right at home from the moment that you arrive. The rooms are so cozy and comfortable and having your covers turned down each night makes you feel really pampered. The breakfast is really to die for!!. It is something new and delicious each morning and always presented just beautifully. We've stayed in B&B's all over the U.S. and this is the best!

From the time we drove in to the time we drove out was absolutely perfect. Barbara & Daisy met us at the door and gave us a tour along with the history of the house. Suzanne took time to share with us her love of the birds and her bird houses are great. They even have binoculars beside the kitchen window so you can get a close view. We stayed in the Summit Room and it was private and very, very clean. The fellow guests were funny & charming and we joined them for cheese & crackers in the evening before dinner. Such fun! The turn down service was thoughtful and we had chocolate covered strawberries and rose petals when we returned from dinner. What a romantic touch for Valentine's Day. Breakfast was the best and the coffee was to die for! Again, we had a fun time with the fellow guests. I laughed so hard my eyes watered!
This is a 5 star B&B with a relaxed, laid back atmosphere.

Barbara & Suzanne have a beautiful home and we will definitely return soon! WE CAN"T WAIT! CAN"T STOP TELLING OUR FRIENDS ABOUT THE DUCK SMITH HOUSE!!!

We stayed here only two nights and wished it were longer. Located in the heart of North Carolina's pottery country, Duck Smith House sets a standard for excellence that other B&B's will find very difficult to meet. The sisters, Barbara and Suzanne, are charming, the rooms are immaculate, large and comfortable, and the breakfasts are delicious. We can't imagine why anyone would stay elsewhere -- unless they didn't book early and the rooms were filled. The next time we're in the area, we're staying longer.
