We loved the Duck Smith House. The sisters, Barbara and Suzanne, made us feel like good friends and family. The rooms were beautiful and very, very clean. The bath room was great.

The sisters provided us with appetizers each afternoon made from family recipes. It was really nice after a day of seeing all the potteries and the Asheboro zoo. And the breakfasts were wonderful.
a very nice selection each morning. They always ask us our likes and dislikes. We will definitely go back when we travel in North Carolina. The sisters booked golf and dinner reservations at the local country club, which was very helpful. Joan and Bill

My husband and I celebrated our 5th marriage anniversary on June 8, 2012 with a 3 night stay at The Duck Smith House. We were always greeted kindly, everything was super clean & neat, the breakfast was always delicious & filling, & the other guests friendly. Barbara & Suzanne are the perfect hosts & ever accomodating. The nightly turn down service & the chocolate dipped strawberries left on our bed made our st ay even more memorable. The tea tree oil bath products were a nice splurge. We enjoyed visiting the local potteries in this charming town, rocking on the porch surrounded by pretty flowers, and visiting the state zoo that is only 10 minutes away. An added bonus was visiting the Pisgah covered bridge. By far this was the nicest place we ever stayed. Simply Divine!

Room Tip: All the rooms are super nice. We stayed in Bertie's Room. Carolina's Room is easily access...

This is without doubt the cleanest and best B&B we have ever stayed in. The owners (two cute little old ladies from NY) are totally sweet and make your stay something special. The rooms are exceptionally well decorated and they have wi-fi too! The grounds are beautiful!

The breakfast was awesome blueberry pancakes. When we arrived the previous day with a bottle of wine, they brought out a cheese and cracker platter and crystal glasses for our wine. Definitely a place we will stay again!

Room Tip: Every room is a good room

Perfect in every detail, Barbara and Suzanne have thought of everything in decorating, amenities, comfort, breakfast. They are warm and friendly, and the B&B is in the perfect location for potterying in Seagrove and visiting the zoo in Asheboro. Asheboro has several good restaurants they can recommend. And you get a preview of some of the pottery in their bright and cosy breakfast room.

Room Tip: only 4 rooms as this is a small B&B. one room has two beds, the others have one.

The sisters Barbara and Suzzanne are wonderful hosts and helpful with their knowledge of the area.

The home is historic with all wood walls and ceilings. We stayed in the charming Waverly bedroom on the second floor. Several windows provide warming morning light. Cable TV and internet access is available in the room. The private bath is well appointed.

For a pleasant visit to the Seagrove pottery area of NC, I recommend Duck Smith B&B.

The Duck Smith House B&B is a very clean and quaint place to stay. The sisters have put a lot of work into restoring this house and transforming it into what it is today. The breakfast was delicious.

It is located on a main road through Seagrove, so you can expect some traffic noise. Although there is not a ton of traffic in Seagrove to begin with. The quietest most private room is The Summit Room.

This is one of the only B&Bs that I am aware of that has a room with two single beds. This is great for siblings traveling together.

Room Tip: If you are looking for a quieter experience, you may want to bring a "white-noise" machine...

Words don't capture the magnificence of this wonderful gem of an inn. The hosts go out of their way to make you feel welcome and cared for. If you are headed anywhere near Seagrove, NC, you can't pass up this one-of-a-kind B&B. It is immaculate, tastefully decorated, the breakfasts are beyond description, and Barbara and Suzanne even offered us late afternoon snacks to accompany the wine we brought along to enjoy after a long day browsing pottery shops and visiting the zoo. What a treat it was!

Room Tip: Every room is gorgeous and comfortable. Just visit the website and view them, as the photos are acc...
