Owner description: Ben Owen III is a potter from Seagrove, North Carolina. His forefathers came to NC from England as early as the late 1700s to ply their craft and furnish storage jars and other utilitarian wares to early settlers. Like his grandfather, Ben III’s pottery reflects a foundation in traditional designs alongside Asian influences. The Pottery shop and studio is open to visitors where one can see pots being made and a museum to learn more about the tradition of pottery making in the Owen family.

We visited several potters today, and while this place had some nice stuff, it was the most expensive of all the potters we visited.

Ben Owens' name is synonymous with "Seagrove, NC potters". The Owens family were iconic pioneers in the art of hand-thrown pottery. Ben is one of the best -- pricey, but of highest quality.

This is always a great stop when visiting NC 705's Pottery Highway. If you're looking for famous utilitarian pottery with beautiful colors and exquisite taste in design, this is a can't miss stop.

Ben Owen is famous both locally and nationally. A visit is like going to a museum and classic forms are available for sale.

Exceptional quality by one of NC's finest potters. Seeing in his own gallery is always a treat!
