Stayed here through Diamond Resorts International Sampler program which was designed to entice people to showcase properties and upgrade ownership. What a dismal failure. Built on hillside and bedroom, kitchen and bath in lower level which feels like a dark basement.. Very dated and cheap... Went to forced sales pitch and told units would be updated . Updating will not eliminate horrible layout. Would never choose to stay here.
So disappointed ...

The units here were built in the 1980's. They are huge compared to new condos, probably about 1800 square feet. They have been updated somewhat. Everything is nice, but not the latest decor. No fancy granite countertops in the kitchen, for instance. The beds are very comfortable, the view from our unit was lovely. The restaurant at the Golf Clubhouse is excellent and reasonably priced. (Sapphire Mountain Brewing Company). Their wood fired pizza is yummy and the beer is great, too. The Ingles grocery store is close and has many gourmet selections as well as all the basics. Another review mentioned the lack of cellular connectivity. True, however, we used our AT&T WiFi Calling and had no problems at all since the free WiFi is very good and fast. If you have AT&T and don't know about their WiFi calling, be sure you check with AT&T customer service before you go so you can use it. Don't know about Verizon, etc. If you run across the maintenance man, Spalding, ask him about his music. He is a wonderful singer/songwriter and guitar player, plus a fabulous maintenance man, of course. He does gigs at some of the local restaurants on the side. Driving note: 64 is a very winding road with some construction. If you can, approach the resort from 107 through Cashiers. This is the best way to get to the National Park, too.

We stayed at the Fairway Forrest (now by Diamond Resorts- which those guys are a JOKE!) but the resort was ok. Highly dated but offered all interior amenities! Beds were all memory foam. 2 restaurants within 5 mins, 1 grocery store within 10 mins. Everything shuts down during certain times. If you love waterfalls, hiking, biking, and golf, then this place is for you! We left early because there was literally nothing going on (within an hour drive).

We purchased our Timeshare week from a friend of ours and Thanksgiving (Week 52) is her week. Which we're thrilled with..gives us something to do at Thanksgiving! The units were built in the 70's, but recent updates have been done and our unit is VERY nice and VERY homey feeling. We were invited to friends of ours for Thanksgiving and I had to bring a dish. The unit was very well stocked with everything I needed, and as a very nice touch, they provided us a Aluminum Turkey pan that was waiting for us in the unit.

The Bed in the Master Bedroom was a surprise, as it was a Memory Foam. The first time my husband and I ever slept on one and now we want one! (I have to call and find out what kind they use...) There were always maintenance personnel working on the exterior of the units repairing and and updating. The grounds were beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay and can't wait until next year to go again!

Room Tip: Memory Foam bed in the Master Bedroom was such a treat! Just was a surprise.

I stayed at this resort about a month ago and got bed bug bites all over. I called the resort to let them know and was told "We will let housekeeping know" and got hung up on. I called back and asked for a manager and they were "out of the office". Still waiting for a call back.

Room Tip: Don't stay there!
