Short walk to see this amazing beauty. Paved walkways make this attraction the easiest to see even for elderly and children

Went for a day trip and the waterfall is breath taking. It can be viewed by a short walk up a paved path. Also had a nice view of the mountains and a lake. The river cannot be seen from the viewing area for the falls. The trail down to the river is narrow and steep. I would not recommend for person with health problems or very small children. The river is very wide with a bridge over it.

Today we stopped to see the falls after seeing so many great reviews. It was absolutely gorgeous! But beware that there are several stops and signs leading to the falls from cashiers off south 107. The first said 5.5 miles and the next said .8. We assumed this was the half mile trail and started it. It was great but a little tougher than expected with a 10 month old and 7 year old. We clearly missed the next stop that I assume was the half mile on the paved trail. Cell phones do not work the entire time so using trip advisor directions will only get you so far. And always take water and a snack with you just in case! Happy hiking!

Our family outing led us to this gem in the mountains. We stopped in on our way elsewhere and wound up spending several hours here. The views here are incredible, especially after the easy climb to the top of the paved trail. We were surprised to see such a beautiful waterfall. Simply Amazing. There is a paved parking area with picnic tables and shelters. A $2 honor system parking fee applies. There isn't a playground but our kids enjoyed the rocks and the trail. A must see on NC hwy 281. Bring a camera!
