We stayed here for a week in July, and there were problems from literally the minute that we stepped in the door.
We opened the front door to a huge pile of dirty linens. There was a problem with the linen company and they had not come by yet to pick up the dirty linens from the previous renters. (Ewwwww!!!) They also didn't drop off our linens in time for the housekeepers to be able to make our beds. The rental company, Surf or Sound, was not answering their phones, so we had to drive over there to ask where our linens were. They were getting ready to close, so we were pretty anxious about not having clean sheets to sleep on. (Picture sleeping on a "rental" mattress...) They said that the linen company was backed up and they were just packing up the clean linens to deliver. It wouldn't have been a big deal, if they had sent out a text or answered their phones.
While we waited for the linens, we started to look around. We found too many things wrong/dirty to list them all, but here's the cliff notes:
There was food left in the kitchen drawers.
The placemats, pot holders and oven gloves all had (a lot of) dried food on them.
There were candy wrappers and food under the sofa cushions, and sofa.
The finish on the kitchen table is so gummy that you stick to the table. I had to buy a vinyl tablecloth.
The bathrooms were not cleaned well - toothpaste spots on the mirrors, hair on the floors and in showers, broken toilet paper holder, dusty light fixtures.
Some of the blinds are broken.
Outside shower was gross and there was a used bar of soap in there.
Cigarette butts all over pool area. (NOT good since we brought dogs!)
A few of the outside chairs, lounges are broken.
Clothes dryer needs to be replaced, old, dirty and rusty.
There were quite a few burnt out light bulbs and broken "decorative" things.
The house is beautiful and has a lot of potential, but we spent the first day and a half cleaning it. The management company was so rude about the linens, I didn't want to deal with them about the cleaning. (Besides, I already saw what they considered "clean". No thanks!)
