“Highlight of our trip to North Carolina!!”

I can't say enough good things about GRA and our trip down the river. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our guide Jim made our trip so much fun. He gave us thorough instructions before and during our adventure. I always felt safe. Jim is very knowledgable about the river. We all learned a lot.

Our family ( two adults and two boys ages 12 and 16) went on the Lower Green. It was the perfect choice for a group of beginners. Enough excitement and challenge, but nothing too overwhelming. Just a fantastic adventure!! You've got to give this a try!!

“Upper Green River Adventure”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 21, 2013

The trip with gra was fantastic, the river and its surrounding are beautiful and the river itself was really exciting. The guides were really professional, knowledgeable and made the trip really fun. They even helped to carry the boats at the end of the trip on the walk to the car. Overall a really fun day out, you can even buy beer at the shop afterwards. I would highly recommend it!

“So much fun and really rewarding!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 21, 2013

The Green River in Saluda is amazingly beautiful and the best way to experience it is on the water with GRA. The guides are awesome, the water is refreshing, and the rapids are super fun. I like the Upper Green trip because it's more adventurous and I feel good after the hike out. Some of my family prefer the Lower Green, though, because it's a bit easier and a lot of fun. We like to finish the trip at the Purple Onion, which is a delicious restaurant just down the street from Green River Adventures. It's become a family tradition, and I seriously can't wait to do it all again!

“This is really fun!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 2, 2013

I've gone on this trip three times and it's always awesome. This time there were five of us. The river was gorgeous -- like we were in another world! -- and the inflatable kayaks were so much fun! Two of us fell out but the water felt great. It was really exciting but not scary. The guides were cute and funny and really helpful. Green River Adventures is the BEST!!!!

“Kayaking the Green River”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 18, 2012

I've taken 2 kayaking trips down the Green River with the Green River Adventures crew, once with a Big Brothers/Big Sisters group, the second with 2 of our grandchildren, ages 9 and 10. Both trips were about 2 hrs long, with plenty of excitement and fun, but not too wild. One trip was late summer when the water was down a little and we encountered some rocks to navigate..no problem. There are usually groups of tubers floating down the river as well which were enjoying the trip and no problem to paddle around.
Saluda is where the base is, an interesting small mountain town with fun shops and restaurants. Once briefed and equipped, we took a van to the river where we received more training and then loaded into the kayaks and entered the river as a group. The water temperature was warm enough to swim, the trip downstream was fun and not overly strenuous, even for seniors. Our guides were capable and helpful with safety being a priority.
Everyone enjoyed the trip; we'll take another run at it next summer.
