“Shrimp Creole and Hot Bourbon Pecan Pie for Dessert--WOW!!”
Reviewed December 20, 2013

Wow, excellent value for price paid. Our hostess, Amy was tops. Wife wife's reuben sandwich was devoured as well. We were told there are three generations of chefs back in the kitchen. Very walkable from the Amtrak Station as well.

“Pleasantly Surprised!”
Reviewed November 13, 2013

We were waiting for the NC Transportation Museum to open so we drove into Salisbury to grab a bite. There wasn't much to choose from in their adorable downtown area we tried a small place on one side of the road but there was a wait and we had small hungry kids, so we walked a bit. We came across Gritz, everyone was dressed nice and we had 2 small kids so we weren't sure this was the place for us. The owner or waitress was very pleasant and nice, told us about the buffet. We are not buffet people and I tend to eat a little healthier than comfort food. OMG everything on the buffet was delish! I think we went back for 3rd and 4th's. We loved everything on buffet. I think my husband took 3 trips for dessert. Very friendly very nice, would love to come back for a regular menu item some time! wonderful

“Quaint atmosphere, shows promise”
Reviewed August 7, 2013

Lunch here was good. Prompt service. Quaint low country atmosphere in historic downtown setting. Breakfast Order was satisfying, portion was just right. Friend found her baked chicken delicious but sides and sweet tea were far too sweet. Hope to return for breakfast or brunch.

“Nice for lunch”
Reviewed August 7, 2013 via mobile

We happened into this shop for lunch. Server was a like overwhelmed with handling all occupied tables. The unsweetened tea was nothing special, the shrimp wrap was equally average (too small for a male lunch). But, the catfish and grits were wonderful (too much for a female lunch....shared with the male). So, it all worked well. If they served a special tea and staffed a little more, this place would be a 5. I am guessing it is exactly what the locals want, as most every table seemed to be regulars.
