We stayed here one night during our excellent Oz Tours camping trip as a special treat and change from camping. The dinner and breakfast were superb as was the accommodation. Thanks to Oz Tours for finding this gem. Our camping trip was fantastic.

I stayed in a "budget room" for 160$. It's very small and clean. Best for 1 person, but if you still love each other it's OK for 2 persons.

They do have larger rooms for 200$.

The front desk are friendly, efficiently and helpful.

I would like to stay here again.

The restaurant on the site is OK. ( Halls Creek only has 2 restaurants at all. The other one is at Kimberly Hotel ).

After a drive of 600 kilometres towing a caravan in 40 degree heat, my partner suggested that we get a motel room with an air conditioner. I hesitated but after such a long & exhausting drive and the the prospect of spending another night in our non air conditioned van I suggested she enquire at the reception to see if they would have somewhere to park our caravan. My partner returned telling me that this was no problem. Of course it wasn't when I found out later that the cost for the room was $165/ night.
The room is smaller than the hot caravan that we vacated so it works out to be a pretty expensive cost to enjoy air conditioning for 1 night. This area caters to the mining industry so the big wages allegedly being paid to the workers obviously has a follow on effect, not only for the room price but the prices being charged in their 'restaurant.' I would actually hazard a guess that the bills are being paid by the mining companies which would explain the blatent rip off being perpetrated here. For the unwary, tired traveller, this motel, which seems like an oasis in the desert, is more akin to a den of thieves waiting in the shadows to hijack your wallet. This is Halls Creek for goodness sake, yet I didnt see any Aboriginal workers being employed. Like another reviewer I did see plenty of foreign workers though, performing the cleaning tasks.
Shame on you Best Western!!

Room Tip: There are no good rooms

Never a good start when the smartarse owner/manager tries to flog you the most expensive room in the house. We arrived after a very long drive and enquired about a room - were asked if we wanted a 'standard'....we said yes..."That's $200 then please.".....When we looked a bit taken aback and asked is that the cheapest room, she said no, the cheapest was $165 (ouch) and the only difference was that the $200 'standard' had an extra bed in which as a party of two we didn't need. Hmmmm....so why didn't you just say that?
A lot of money has been spent on gimmicks such as fancy electronic locks (no stronger than normal), baths in strange places and an unfortunate Marilyn/Elvis makeover. The TV is massive....but didn't work.
The restaurant is a hideous shrine to bad taste and average tucker, and definitely caters for the 'men's mining market'. Not good.
Cleaning staff are nice but it's worrying they are all overseas visitors on 'tourist visas'.
There's not much choice for a bed up this part of the world and this lot are milking it for all it's worth - shame it's all to obvious to the customer.

Room Tip: keep on driving

looking for a quiet air conditioned room for the night, after eventually rousing the owner at 2 in the afternoon the rude old cow begrudgingly gave us a massively overpriced room, 3% surcharge on credit card! all afternoon/evening the thumping loud music was only stopped when the owner & her son/boyfriend? left their quadbikes idling outside our room for 20 mins. the bar/restaraunt looked like it was decorated by a teenage girl with a head full of lsd. the food was way overpriced and almost inedible and finally the traffic and noise from the bar/restaraunt is constant & noisy.

We are Americans living in Australia. Four years ago, we decided to drive to Broome from Sydney. Along the way, we came upon the Best Western in HC. It was Christmas Eve and we were shocked when we discovered they had a room. Not only that, they welcomed us to join their family for Christmas Eve dinner. We have gone back two more times and it is the ONLY place we will stay. The owner, Kerryn, is a smart, likeable business woman and I just don't believe the comments that were said in the earlier review. We have known her to be fair, honest and welcoming. The place is spotless and her staff are top notch. Russian Jacks is also very nice with high quality food. All in all, we enjoy this oasis in the outback when we are passing through and will stay again.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are different, some have full kitchen and w/d facilities.

After just having spent 11 days at the Best Western Halls Creek I must say that this would have to be the most incredible experience.

The friendly staff and Owner( who might I say went out of her way to accomodate my every request)

The room was impeccable clean and comfortable.

You must check out "Russian Jaks" the bar is amazing and food truly delicious.

I have nothing but high praise for the Hotel Staff and Owner.

I will definitely be staying there again!!!!!!!!!
