We booked via http://booking.com and were just looking for a good location and good price.
This motel is just around the corner from the main streets so very central.
The reception was friendly and pleasant.
Each time I was at reception I had to wait quite some time for attention as there was only one person on the desk attending to several clients.

The outside of our block of rooms was being painted when we arrived but caused no disruption to our plans.
The motel is old but upkeep appears to be underway and ongoing.

Our room was clean & adequate.
The bed was comfortable and warm.
The TV was in the room and the free wifi worked easily.
The bathroom area was very small and pokey - you couldn't get into the bathroom if the outside door was open.
You had to go through the shower/basin area to get to the toilet.
It really was a one person bathroom area!

There were snacks and drinks to purchase in the rooms but there was no list or distinction made to separate the free from the priced goods which was slightly confusing.

We had plenty of room to park our very large 4WD vehicle when we first arrived but on returning later in the evening all spaces were full and it was tricky to negotiate out to find another park.
We were in an upstairs back unit and had no view of the sea but as we only had the room for one night we were quite okay with it.
We chose to eat elsewhere so never sampled the in-house fare.
Dome is around the corner and further away are quite a few other restaurants and cafes.

Booked through agoda for a wedding some months before. No problems with payment, reception staff friendly and helpful. Parking at front was disappointing as some inconsiderate clown had parked behind everybody and vehicle was left there for three days. Motel staff did not know who it belonged to and said they would check register, maybe someone not staying there? Overall, clean firendly, and great location to beachfront and main street.Recommend the eggs benedict at Dome Cafe nearby.

Room Tip: If you dont want a view, get a back room for quietness.

The write up's lead me to believe this would be a good motel but I was dissappointed with the place overall. The room had no natural light apart from the bathroom. If you opened the front window black out curtains then everyone walking past on the pavement could see in. We were next to the laundry and that was quite noisy. The room was set for 3 but only two chairs and 2 mugs etc. The bathroom seriously needs updating. I wanted to check out there an then and go somewhere else but it had been paid in full. I won't be staying there again. The staff were friendly enough though and it is easy to walk places from there. Just don't expect even a three star. pool was really cold, only 10 mins and we were purple!

Had just stayed in BW hotel in Kal, so knew what to expect. Had dinner in hotel first night. Good meal, but waitress seemed inexperienced, overworked and lacking in training. Room clean and comfortable. Esperance a bit lacking in hotel and restaurants - probably not helped by fact we were travelling as main season coming to an end. One restaurant that had been recommended to us was clearly closed for the year.

In a town with very few hotels this seemed the best choice and the most central in position. On arrival the reception staff were very helpful and welcoming providing us amongst other things with the password to the free Wi-Fi (which turned out to be very slow but at least it was available).

Our room was on the ground floor in a rear block with no view of the sea which from the outside looked a bit like a social housing block of flats in the UK of the 1970s. The room itself was also in a time warp with faded 1970-1980s style carpets wallpaper and furniture. Fortunately we were there when the weather was a bit cooler because the air conditioning unit was very noisy and water had obviously leaked from it down the wall underneath the wall paper pulling the wallpaper off the wall about which nothing had been done. There was a Queen size divan bed which was comfortable and clean and a single bed as well. Given that there wasn't any comfortable easy chair in the room it might have been better to sacrifice the single bed for a settee or two armchairs. Our main criticism has to be reserved for the shower room and toilet which were very small and decorated with dark brown tiles throughout making it very dark and poky. One could hardly turn in the shower it was so small. The decor and paintwork was old and uncared for.

On the first morning of our three night stay we opted to take breakfast in the motel which is advertised as being served up until 9am. We arrived at 8.45am to be greeted by a waitress who looked at her watch and told us that she was clearing for dinner and hoped that we didn't want a cooked breakfast! The continental breakfast was of poor quality. Why tinned fruit in a country where the markets are full of fresh fruit? Just laziness I guess. Most of the cold buffet had been eaten and clearly wasn’t going to be replaced. For the remaining two mornings of our stay we took breakfast in the newly opened Dome coffee emporium close by which was excellent. This experience also put us off dining in the motel which judging from reports was just as well. We didn't try the small swimming pool.

Esperance is a fairly isolated town and port on the southern ocean which has lost its way a bit. It trades itself on the beautiful world beating beaches to the east and west of the town. If it is going to make its way on the tourist map it needs to improve its tourist facilities. I'm afraid that the Best Western Motel needs like the town a serious upgrade. Having said that it was busy mainly with one night business stopovers I guess. I’m afraid it is not a hotel that we would return to or recommend.

we had a deal for this-inc one 4 course dinner with a bottle of good Houghton's wine and full breakfasts-we went by bus (trans wa) as it takes 10 hours from perth one way and the weather was nice so we enjoyed our trip to woody island.
the pool was inviting though the sun did not cover it after ca 3pm and it was coler than in perth but the town had memories for us to ca 1980 when we first passed through on our way back to melbourne(where we lived at the time)

food was very good so we ate even when we had no free meal!

a really enjoyable outing from the daily grind in perth!

Room Tip: the executive rooms are worth the extra few $ (king ones are newly refurbished-we had a queens and i...

We had a lovely 2 night stay at this accommodation and i wish i had booked another two nights instead of traveling up the coast. The staff are just lovely, the rooms exceptionally clean and tidy and the restaurant food was just delightful. A lovely place to stay in the center of town, close to the jetty and i would most definitely stay there again when we decide to go back.
