The high tables towards the front of the restaurant in the bar area provide a view of the harbour. We ordered a pizza to take away and it was quite good. We also wanted a salad to take away but were advised that the restaurant is not licensed for anything other than takeaway pizza. Funny laws.

“Good location”

Had dinner there on a Saturday night, busy, so go early. Great variety of food to choose, very large and enjoyable pizzas. Modern interior.

“Not bad”
Reviewed October 8, 2013

Pretty busy night, so perhaps was not the best night to go...food was fairly average, standard sort of pub food for a pretty hefty price. For some food came out very quickly, so that was a plus - although some at our table waited for ages. Not really any complaints though

“Average Pub Fare”
Reviewed October 7, 2013

For a pub built in the seventies, its still looking good...nice high ceilings, and wide windows to take in the panoramic views to be had over the bay.
Once inside you immediately get that warm cozy feel about the place. Dark brown hues, rich grey flecked carpets, contrasting with the modern stainless steel bar area.
Its inviting you to sit down, have a beer, and enjoy a good feed!!!
We did sit down, and have a beer, but sorry to say never got to have a good feed!!
Attractive uniformed staff, greeted us at the bistro, and promptly took our orders.
Like many Bistros nowadays the salad bar is included in the price of your meal.!!
The menu was extensive, soups , entrees, and seafood, steaks, curries, lamb shanks, pizza were all a part of the main courses on offer, with a specials board to boot.....
My partner chose the fish and chips, and I chose the beef strips with kumara mash, both meals were a disappointment, the fish dry and tasteless and the beef overcooked and tough.
There is a lot of competition for bums on seats in this town, consistency and the quality of product produced will ultimately decide where you end up in the pecking order.
