“Beautiful accommodation in an idyllic setting.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2013 via mobile

My partner and I stayed in the B&B accommodation for one night last weekend, and we wished we had booked a longer stay. The owners were welcoming and the accommodation was just stunning. The property is very well maintained with a lake, grassed areas and lovely gardens in amongst Dwellingup's natural forests and rivers. There are also some hand reared kangaroos on the property and plenty of bird life. The rooms were bigand the bed comfortable. The en suite was modern and spotlessly clean, and the shower was lovely. Our cooked breakfast was very good with views overlooking the property from the dining area. If you're looking for a romantic getaway for 2 I recommend this B&B. If there's a family or a group of you the chalets are gorgeous and all on the same property. Well priced and good value for money. Highly recommended.

Nice two storey chalets are spaced out around the rural property and well seperated from each other for privacy. The property is well sign posted and easy to find about 5km south of the town of Dwellingup near the Murray River.
Well equipped, clean and ideal for a long weekend getaway - which is what we enjoyed here.
Obviously in mid-winter it gets cold and bottomed out at minus 2 degrees on the 2 nights we stayed but a little bit of preparation on our behalf meant this was not a problem. The pot belly fire and plenty of stocked firewood meant the upstairs bedrooms were very warm and downstairs was pretty comfortable.
Note : no phone, TV or internet reception at the property (but I see this as a good thing).
The only improvement to the chalets we stayed in that I would recommend is the provision of a larger TV. As there is no TV reception the obvious choice is to watch one of the many free DVD's on offer and a larger screen would have been nice.
Overall though - very happy with a nice place and friendly staff.
Recommended.

What a fabulous place. I have just come back from a weekend with my family. We stayed in the Kookaburra Chalet and it was cosy very well appointed. The grounds are beautiful and the stunning Dwellingup Forrest surrounds the property. We had fun patting some of the hand raised kangaroos which live on the property as well as a black footed wallaby. Blue Wrens and Scarlet Robbins were just some of the many birds flitting about. I would recommend this loverly property to anyone wanting a relaxing getaway.

My wife and I just had two days staying at the B&B in an upstairs room. It was extremely clean and everything is provided. The bed is a King and has a beautiful mattress and the room is well adorned. There is a common kitchen ( guests only) with all the basics to use. As we were walkers we were able refrigerate, prepare themos etc. In actuality its more a Guest House than a B&B.

The Hot Breakfast is very ample and presented in the dining room at 0830. There are no other meals provided - but the town is 5 mins drive away and it has several very nice places to eat and there is also a more modernised country pub. We did not take the Hotham Valley Train dinner on Saturdays - but will in the future.

The hosts are a middle aged couple Mark and Margaret - who make you feel very welcome - yet also leave you to your own devices.

For me the key is the location - which is perfectly located for Bib Track walkers. You could stay here for three days and do separate Town loop, North and South walks of around 20km each.

We will be back for sure to complete all three.

Beautiful homestead surrounded by nature. Mark (our host) has a good knowledge of the local plants and animals. Margaret and he are wonderful hosts. We stayed 2 nights B&B at the cockatoo lodge. Best way to get there is down Nanga rd and then left on river rd

My sister and I recently spent two wonderful days in the 'Blue Wren' chalet. A magical place full of wildlife including blue wrens, kangaroos, robins and wallabies. The chalet was very comfortable and well furnished, our every need was catered for and I am sure if it wasn't Mark would have found it for us. Mark and Margaret, the proprietors, are possible one of the best things about Dwellingup B & B, nothing is too much trouble for them, they have a wealth of local knowledge and they are very welcoming without being intrusive. I would give this holiday venue the highest rating possible for value and enjoyment and I would love to return one day.

Absolutley beautiful peacful hideaway. We stayed overnight in B&B and felt right at home. Margaret and Mark arw wonderful people, very helpful and local knowledge is great. The grounds are set out very well and the lodge is beautiful. Our queen room with ensuite was very welcoming, spotless, very roomy and the bed comfy. There us small sitting area upstairs for guests to use with tea and coffee, biscuts, microwave, TV and crockery. Beautiful balcony to relax and enjoy the peacful setting, feeding the wildlife and a few wines. Travel tip, march flies are buggers but disappear after sun set.
