We stayed at Tyntynder Cottage 2 for four nights with our dog and 2 teenagers last weekend and had a wonderful time. We are familiar with Bright as we camp outside the town each summer, but being there in winter was a first for us. It really is a town for all seasons: beautiful no matter what the time of year!
The cottage was exactly as described and photographed. Spacious & comfortable with quality bed linen and quality decor. What I especially appreciated was the stock of basics in the pantry (oil, pepper and salt, teas, coffee, sugar) as well as other essentials like dishwashing soap, dish cloths, dishwashing tablets, paper towel, tin foil and glad wrap i.e. things that are a pain to buy when you arrive at a place and use just a handful of times. The kitchen was very well set up and had all the utensils and crockery you could need; again, much appreciated as i think there is nothing more annoying than trying to cook at a rental with one small saucepan and inadequate knives. The little bag of local treats was a nice touch too.
There was also a decent supply of wood and kindling to get us started with the fireplace, although we did have to purchase more wood but that's easily done at service stations and we did go through a lot as it was very chilly! The fireplace was great at pumping out the heat and gave such a lovely cosy atmosphere to the house at nighttimes.
Our cottage had a small deck with table and chairs and BBQ and an adorable little garden, very well looked after (and I suspect with beautiful flowers come spring time) and fenced for our dog, who loved to go out there and have a bark at a dog in a neighbouring cottage and just sniff around. Sitting in the lounge room you have a very scenic view over the yard and tall trees.
The location is perfect: a short stroll down to the Ovens River and walking trails in either direction. It was an easy and pleasant walk to Bright along the track beside the river and a very beautiful stroll in the other direction, with swing bridges crossing the river at a couple of points. A very peaceful location and a quick 5 min or less drive into town.
Our dog loved the basket of toys left for him! There are also towels for the dog (we had brought our own though), bowls, there's a dog tidy bag dispenser in the garden too.
In summery it was a perfect stay, we had a peaceful and relaxing break and we would definitely stay again.
I have just returned from a blissful few days at Tyntynder Garden Cottage 2 in Bright. It exceeded my expectations as a great place to stay. Gorgeous bedding which you sink into after a hard day of sampling the delights in Bright township. Everything from coffee to die for, to mouth watering food and the amazing range of local wines.
All the above and more is surrounded by an abundance of enormous deciduous trees that put on a spectacular display when the leaves change colour in Autumn.
I highly recommend Tyntynder Cottage 2 as a preferred place to stay. It's a great place to wind down in peace and tranquillity, looking out to trees from the balcony and hearing the Ovens River which is a mere 100 metres away. A perfect place for your dog as well.
