“Tasmanian Treasure near St Helens”
Reviewed March 23, 2013

An absolute delight to stay there. The restored house is beautifully finished, with spacious bedrooms and facilities which are superb. The location itself is just stunning, and close to the fabulous Blue Tier, Pyengana and the striking St Colomba Falls. The hosts, Rosemary and Charlie were very charming and made us feel special. They offer their BBQ facilities if we wished to cook for ourselves and you can buy top quality steak from them, at bargain prices, to cook on the barbie. Easily the best accommodation we stayed in during our 2 weeks in Tasmania, and it all came at a very low cost. We would love to return.
This place is all class and an example of what can be done. Well dome Rosemary and Charlie!

Find yourself in a little bit of Tasmanian essence. The hosts were a pleasure to meet, nothing was to much trouble for them. A BBQ on the balcony bring your own or buy some steak from hosts. The ground floor room was excellent, spotlessly clean and with elegant furnishings and supplies. The mattress was extremely comfy as well. The shower was best we had in 2 weeks touring and also the towels. A small sitting room for privacy and they had wifi free as well. Great breakfast and for a small charge a cooked breakfast if you wanted. The Blue Tiers was certainly worth a walk through. Plus we also did The Pub in the Paddock for a great meal. Cheese from the local dairy co was great also. Thank you to mine hosts

Room Tip: Make sure you get directions as is in the country.

What a great hidden treasure... rounding the corner on a gravel road, we started to think what had we done! Then we saw the Guest House... wonderful. The hosts, Rosemary and Charlie were very friendly and accommodating. The accommodation was superb. We would very easily go back!

My wife thought that Charlie and I would never stop taking when it was time for us to leave!

Rosemary and Charlie made us feel very welcome. They have saved a house from certain ruin and turned it into a charming guest house, if we had more time we would have stayed longer. Attention to detail is excellent, bed very comfortable, fab views from our upstairs room although the bathroom was shared it was very easy and spotlessly clean everywhere. Would recommend to anyone looking for a country experience, St Columbus falls are nearby which are spectacular. Also enjoyed a lovely meal at the Pub in a Paddock which is nearby.

We were met by Rosemary and Charlie who were perfect hosts.
The B&B has been beautifully restored and reflects a lot of history for the region. The bedrooms are delightful and we had a great relaxing time.
Breakfast was just right and the glass of wine(purchased at local St Helen's pub) on the verandah made the views even more "country".
A short walk down the country road and you come across a distinct change and a small rainforest. Just what Tasmania is about.
Price made this visit the best kept secret in Tassie.

I stayed in this place when I went to the Bay of Fires and it was amazing. It is 20 mins out of St Helens. It had alot to offer cute place in the country, was close to the cheese farm, pub in the paddock and st columbia Falls which are all worth having a look at. The places prices are great! And the couple who own it are very friendly. I would suggest staying here over staying in St Helens it could be one of the best kept secerects in the area.

Tassie is a great place to visit and you should definatley stay here if you are in the area.

Room Tip: Johnson room had an amazing view
