Queen's cottage is located in the main street of bucolic Williamstown village at the southern end of the Barossa valley wine region. This 1860's historical country cottage has been charmingly renovated to offer very comfortable country style accommodation. With three large bedrooms, a lounge (with a real fireplace), modern kitchen and bathroom, which, for us, was more preferable to any hotel accommodation.
Mel, the charming hostess, stocks the frig with country fresh Barossa goodies for your enjoyment. And, if asked, provides a wealth of information of what to do and see in the area.
All-in-all we found our short stay there a very pleasant one indeed, and would highly recommend it to those travellers who prefer country house type accomodation to that of a hotel.
Everything you can think of is here! Mel spoils you with food, drinks and luxurious items like bathrobes, slippers, scented candles, the list goes on. We will be back for sure!
Queen's Cottage has everything you need for a relaxing holiday, plus some extra luxuries that make your stay even more special. I would thoroughly recommend Queen's Cottage when visiting the beautiful Barossa Valley. Wine & cheese, a warm fire, 'waterfall' shower, huge bath tub & more!
We went to the Barossa for a girls trip away and our accommodation was superb. Mel, the owner of queens cottage, was so helpful and accommodating and the cottege was in amazing condition. i would highly recommend staying here, perfect location for wine tours and a quick trip To Lyndoch for restaurant options. Me next trip to the Barossa I would absolutely book Queens Cottege again!
Queen's Cottage is just delightful. It is so warm and comfortable (we were there in winter), underfloor heating in the bathroom which comes on automatically, a fire in the living room and reverse cycle air cons!! The extras are amazing, all high quality and where possible, local. I've never seen so many and varied toiletries! The fridge was packed with local produce, eggs, bacon, local milk, welcome wine, home made jams, fruit and an amazing cheeseboard for the first evening. Home made biscuits, a carafe of port with chocolate mints.........endless. Massive comfy bed. Thank you Mel for the easiest, most comfortable stay away from home, we'll be back!
My husband and I stayed here in May 2017 for 5 nights and absolutely loved it! While the cottage is advertised as a B&B, the cottage is self contained which was a fabulous surprise for us...we had the entire place to ourselves! The cottage was clean, fabulously decorated and so comfortable! The bathroom was 5 star all the way! The kitchen was provisioned with fresh eggs, bacon, a loaf of fresh baked bread with jam and butter in the refrigerator as well as fresh fruit and a cheese plate with a delicious bottle of wine from one of the local vineyards!
Mel greeted us on arrival and was a delight! The cottage is conveniently located with just a short drive to explore the vineyards/cellar doors throughout The Barossa. My husband and I would highly recommend The Queen's Cottage on your visit to The Barossa!
We've stayed at a lot of B&Bs, and this is one we circled for ages - we wish we'd done it sooner. The attention to detail really is spot on. The king size bed with high quality bedding, the lush, deep bath, the heated tiles, plenty of local food and provisions (from excellent bread and croissants to locally produced bacon, and the freshest eggs, and a few delicious treats spread here and there), the fireplace all set to go - it's really such a lovely place.
Then, put it in Williamstown and you're surrounded by the wineries, history and sights of The Barossa, you have walks at Warren, Hale and Mt Crawford, an excellent bike ride from Nuriootpa to Angaston, great coffee and shopping ... and Williamstown itself has a very relaxed feel to it.
So, yes, we will be back.
