A pleasant place tucked away in Tanunda. Wanted to visit for sometime and was not disappointed by the food and professional service! Great blend of flab ours and a good variety of dishes! Look forward to returning soon.

We enjoyed the casual, but attentive service at this lovely restaurant. The menu was inventive, as one expects in wine country, and the meal lived up to the menu's promise. While a bit expensive, we were not sorry we went. We also were able to get a table without a reservation, despite having been told at the hotel that it was not likely.

Combining local produce in creative ways, the 1918 Bistro and Grill serves up dishes that blend European with a bit of Asian with really good effect. Despite being crowded, service was efficient and friendly and we were made to be felt incredibly welcome throughout our meal.

Make sure you book a table in advance, as the restaurant was pretty much packed out early in the evening.

We visited this gorgeous restaurant on our last night in the Barossa. We had booked with another restaurant in Lyndoch but a quick check on trip adviser ....finding many bad reviews on the original choice. After checking with some locals we were advised to try this place and we were so glad we did. From the moment we walked in the door of this cottage (still with the designated original rooms) to our table right in front of the roaring fireplace it was perfect. A good choice of wine was available. We were served bread and olives promptly. There was a great choice of both entrée and mains to choose from. I had prawn and chorizo on a cauliflower puree which was delicious. My friend had the haloumi dish which she enjoyed immensely. My main a duck curry with sweet potato and crunchy pork skin was divine whilst my friend had a lamb rack which was tasty but undercooked for her liking. Our desserts were also well received though I though maybe a few more choices could be added. All in all a great night out - wonderful atmosphere, divine food, exceptional service - a little pricey but well well worth it. I will definitely be back on my return to the Barossa

1918 restaurant was recommended to us as place to eat at in Tanunda Barossa Valley. It lived up to its expectations and surpassed them, the dinner, atmosphere (fire on cold winters night) and service, we could not have chosen better, if visiting the Barossa this is one restaurant you should eat at.
