Description: Small seasonal menu of Northern Vietnamese-influenced cuisine. The focus is on local produce, most of which is grown in the family vegetable and herb garden. The business also boasts the most comprehensive wine list in South Australia, with international focus on wines that harmonise with the subtly spiced Asian cuisine. Don't expect to find a large listing of the sweet-fruited highly-charged and alcoholic Barossa Shiraz's, but you will find pages and pages of Champagne, German Riesling, White and Red Burgundy, Beaujolais, as well as the most comprehensive listing of wines from new and exciting local Barossa, Clare and Adelaide Hills producers. A wine pilgrim's paradise established for the local wine making community, many of whom are seen each night enjoying dinner at fermentAsian. Note that the wine list was awarded the top wine list award in Australia in the gourmet Traveller Wine List of the Year awards in July 2016.

We had a fantastic meal at Ferment Asian, and drank some really great wine. It was a revelation to have beautifully prepared and presented dishes that remained true to their origins and yet had enough restraint to allow the wines from the superb list to absolutely sing. The pork belly with Tim Smith Viognier was worth the trip alone.

This restaurant is a must if you are staying in the Barossa Valley. Fresh aromatic beautifully cooked food not to mention the very extensive wine list

We had what's termed a 'taste journey' which was a little of most of the dishes on the menu. There was not one dish we didn't enjoy. The food was fresh and tasty, not overly spicy but enough to taste the 'Asian' in the food. The wine list was extensive and our waiter was very helpful with selecting a wine, however, his recommendations didn't suit what we would normally order, his recommendations were based purely on his palate. The service was very good and the atmosphere was great. The restaurant was full, our room was noisy but not too loud that it detracted from our enjoyment. All in all and excellent meal and a very enjoyable evening.

The food was outstanding and exceptionally good value. The wait staff would benefit from a refresher course in table service but it did not detract too much. Taking plates before everyone was finished gave the impression of rushing the food.
