We spent two nights at Blickinstal and loved it. The view was incredible, and the location perfect in the middle of all the Barossa has to offer. Sue (the host) was so lovely, and an incredible cook! It was perfect.

Very well located for the Barossa vineyards very peaceful and relaxing
The rooms are well equipped with all you require and the breakfast hits the spot
We were happy to sit and watch the sunsets which were awesome with a bottle of Shiraz Or two
Slight downside is nearest town eateries are 5km but did not bother us just to bring some food back and sit in peace and watch the views
Would certainly return

I'm a wine lover and decided to stay in the Barossa Valley for two days, and other two days in Adelaide! I regret TOO MUCH this decision, because the Barossa region is a place where you can spend at least 4 days relaxing and tasting the best Shiraz in the World. I should have stayed four days in this hotel! Sue, who runs the business is an amazing person and also prepares a very nice breakfast. The place is 5-10 minutes form the city and is located in the hills, which is fantastic for great sunshines pictures everyday. Driving up the hill in front of the hotel you will reach the BEST Barossa Valley view, which is better than the well mentioned Menglers Hill Lookout! Check it! - Rifle Range Road!

Room Tip: I got a normal room and it was great, so I believe any room is also a good option!

We stayed at Blickinstal for 2 nights on our first trip to the Barossa. We had a wonderful stay. Sue and Mark made us feel extremely welcome. The accommodation was immaculate and the grounds were lovely to walk around and enjoy. Breakfasts and afternoon tea were delicious, we especially enjoyed the fresh eggs in the morning.

When we go back to Barossa, we will definitely stay here again!

We stayed in the Dove Cote studio, owned by the Blikinstal Retreat folks. The studio was delightful, if a little 'cutsie'...it had all we could want - the kitchen, tucked away behind cupboards was fabulous and we were able to cook up a storm with the generous provisions left for us for breaky. Sadly we didn't have time to use the spa!! The only thing we would have changed would be some screen doors - as the only 'air' into the room was by two large screenless doors, we were forced to sleep with one door open (warm night in Tanunda that night) which felt a little insecure. It was perfect for our needs - central to Tanunda, onsite parking, clean and fresh and lots of lovely little additions to make it feel very welcoming!
