Dined here as a family of 4 for a "special birthday" dinner some 2 years ago. The place was fantastic and did a brilliant job coping with holiday weekend traffic and 2 full sittings! Back in Robe for a weekend naturally we booked again.
Not a holiday weekend this time but Sails was still very busy. The service was as good as ever as was the quality of the food. Entree's included Salt and Peper Tofu (fantastic sauce - had to ask for a spoon to finish the sauce as I couldn't quite bring myself to lick the plate), Lobster Pie and Pickled Octopus. Mains were "fish and chips" (well it was but of superb quality and really really nice fish), Steak with lobster ravioli and Kangaroo. All dishes were of an excellent standard. Only one member of the party opted for dessert (the still growing mid teen boy) - Pumpkin Pie and again nothing was left on the plate!
A good selection of wines mainly local, some from further a field and one or two imports made for an excellent choice.
Sails is a more expensive restaurant - costing us about $90-95 per head but that did include two higher priced bottles of wine. For the quality of food and service we think its quite a reasonable cost.
We will come to Sails again on our next visit to Robe and have no hesitation in recommending Sails!
