“Lovely base to explore the region”
Reviewed February 3, 2013 via mobile

The experience of staying here was good. The cottage was beautifully furnished and the bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable. The paintwork needs a few touch ups and some of the bathroom fittings need replacing and it could have been cleaned a little big bettering places - but still worth staying at. Breakfast provisions were great and Di was lovely and very easy to deal with.

stayed here in January 2012, serious rising damp emanating from bathroom and extending to adjoining walls in family room and kids bedroom. If I had being staying there with kids I would've checked out immediately and asked for a refund. In addition, it looks tired and in major need of renovation, paint tired, coating peeling from taps in bathroom. try elsewhere.

Room Tip: look elsewhere

Stayed for 3 nights and could have stayed for longer. The cottage has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. Plenty of living space, with dvd's, books and magazines (which need updating) Beds are very comfy and good curtains so they keep fairly dark in the mornings. Good value too with a full breakfast supplied daily which the owner kindly popped in during the day and replenished. The only downer was that the shower could do with a screen not a curtain. We had to put the plastic rubbish bin in the shower to stop the curtain blowing against your legs constantly. Other than that, all good !!

I've stayed in Cobb & Co Cottages 3 times over the past 5 years. They are not luxurious, any of them, but the cottages are quiet and spacious, the beds are comfortable, the water's hot and the location is excellent, just near Pipers restaurant and the local hotel. We have never had a problem with cleanliness.

The breakfast is a bit on the functional side and I would prefer more interesting breads and jams, but it's to a price and is comparable with the level of quality of the cottages overall. Everything works, Di is just down the road at the flower shop if you have any issues, and the fact we keep coming back when we need a reliable place to stay without spending a fortune is a testament to the service and quality.

Room Tip: The front cottage on the road has the nicest layout, and even though opposite the school you don'...

...as said in title, Cobb & Co Cottages were pleasant, in a great location and had all the amenities one requires but the furnishings and decor were all a bit tired and drab and had definitely seen better days! Certainly not what was portrayed in the photos in the website...time for an update! Also the cleanliness was questionable in spots...e.g. wiped the previous guests' food spillage off the TV table. The owner needs to check the cleaner's work standards. Overall OK but only average for the price.

The only negative I could find was it was not centrally heated like it is at home.
Cold on the toes in the morning.
It was great value, very clean, and right in the middle of town. quite spacious and comfortable with a big spa bath. Huge breakfast supplies available every day to cook.
Real coffee, hot chocolate, all kinds of tea, biscuits, chocolates, cereal, bread, milk, orange juice, bacon, eggs, tomato, butter. WOW

my , partner and i stayed at Cobb and co, and had such a great night, we got there late in the arvo, and were still able to get a room here. Penola is such a cute town with friendly people, good restuarants, nice shops and great wine! Cobb and co were clean, had a spa, the breakfast provisions were more than ample, and was really comfortable and homely. highly recommended
