What can I say - all we did there was sleep the night so can't really complain. The photos of the restaurant are very deceiving compared to the quality of the rooms. But apart from that it did the job if you just want a motor inn. The bed was comfortable, it had a TV, had a bathroom and for the price you couldn't really go wrong. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel instead the fabulous Lyndoch German Bakery just down the road. Cheese and kransky pie - delicious. Also has a cafe attached to it as well.

If you're arriving from Lyndoch (or the Barossa) it's actually pretty badly signed. So make sure you're watching out for it. (It could also be the fact that I was coming back from the Barossa after the long day of tasting).

We look forward to Our October Anniversary holidays each year so we waited with anticipation for the time to return to Lyndoch Hill. Always a joy to stay there. we were greeted upon arrival in a very friendly and efficient manner by Mark. Our room was very comfortable and very clean....A surprise to find new Air conditioning and a LCD HD television with HDMI if you need to connect to your HDMI Laptop very useful to do. The room's are a very trendy 60's decor however we just love them the way they are, as they compliment the incredible gardens surroundings which are lovely by morning noon or evening.......just to take time to sit out on the balcony sipping wine listening to the birds at play or taking a leisurely stroll deeper into the gardens to find your way to the magnificent "Barossa Chateau" where you discover a beautiful collection of art and antiques, a gift shop featuring all things rosy. you can order a cheese platter to enjoy while you taste the large variety of wines from Creeds Winery or a delightful devonshire tea with yummy scones, jam cream and latte or cappuccino coffee.
The restaurant is very unusual, very busy so you need to reserve a table we both enjoyed our meals breakfast in the mornings and dinner in the evening we visited every night as we loved it, was a very relaxing experience with large selection drink and food menus to tempt the taste buds. We appreciated waiting between each course being able to relax and the service was very attentive and friendly.
Overall we Highly Recommend Lyndoch Hill to stay at a wonderful unique place to unwind have fun that doesn't come with a high price tag, very affordable! Thanks again Mark and Mandy for being charming hosts you made our time in your home very special.....missed my old bucket chair though Mark :) Returning for Lyndoch Hill season 3 in 2013.....DON'T MISS IT!

From the moment we pulled up to reception the experience was horrible. Upon arriving we were greatest by rude staff and 2 disgusting filthy dogs that tried to attack us. The dogs do not leave the property and are suppose to be friendly however they are not. The rooms are shocking and the housekeeping staff are very unhygienic after witnessing the way they serviced our room we did not even want to sleep in the room. The Buffett breakfast was shocking and the cutlery had dog hair on it and so did the fruit. Highly would recommend health sa to look at this place. Will never come here again!

We thought this would be a great midweek break - how wrong can you be!! The hotel room was small, the bed rock hard but clean. There were no plates or knives & forks though there was coffee/tea and milk. All the fittings were old, light bulbs missing or mismatched. Not enough light in the room to comfortably read by, nor a comfortable chair either. TV seemed to only be DVD player and no instructions for use. The bathroom was cold, old, no door or curtain on the shower recess. Very 50's and in need of renovation all round. Our towels were not changed for the 3 days we stayed and there was nowhere to hang them up except behind the door!!

The restaurant chairs are plastic - hardly the high class restaurant we were lead to believe. The food was adequate but expensive - though the breakfast was good.

The gardens were being renovated and looking very sad and overgrown - you could hardly see some of the rose bushes for weeds and the ponds & fountains needed a clean-up. The whole place needs some serious renovations to both the grounds and motel to bring it up to the 4 star standard .

Do yourself a favour and find somewhere else to stay - there's a lot better places to choose from. We won't stay there again, nor would we recommend it to friends.

Staff were very friendly. very relaxed atmosphere. restaurant and surrounds were amazing. great views. had an amazing time.
only downside was the rooms. rooms were very clean and large size, however ugly concrete walls and very motelish. we were extremely happy with our room however seeing we got a very good price for a weekend getaway. those looking for extreme luxury and quality may be dissapointed, but those not expecting 5 stars will be very happy.

We booked this motel for two nights which Wotif site referrenced which nominated the standard room as a special for the night. We rang the hotel to make the booking and check the 4 star self rating ascribed to the premises. Were informed that the special was due to a surplus of rooms for the nights we were there.

We should have known better!

The room we were initially shown was small and very basic. A sign asked that we not track mud in from the garden or a $65 fee would apply. That the capet was badly stained anyway did not seem to faze the motel.

To the credit of the helpful woman at the desk she offered a choice of other rooms as we were going to leave. We eventually accepted one of these which gave signs of a more recent makeover.

Basic reuirements were there including a toaster, BUT THERE WERE NO PLATES AND KNIVES!!i Small things yes but details are necessary if presenting attractive accommodation.

The advertised 3300 rose bushes were (a) not flowering but not fault of Motel of course and (b) undergoing a large makeover so there was very little impression of what seemed to be the Motels major attraction.

Position is not particularly great. It's about 5 K from Lyndoch which is very small anyway, then a further 8 k into Tununda where there are a number of eating places.

The Motel does advertise a Restaurant which the "desk" recommended highly, but given the presentation of the Motel as a whole we whose not to risk it.

The only reason why I gave this review just a poor review was the "special" advertised of $99 pn. Had I had to pay that for the room advertised the brating would have been lower.

Room Tip: Don't bother with this motel, there are no really good rooms at the prices advertised. The whol...

Incredibly disappointing to arrive here.. It's like an old horrible motel. If we hadn't paid in full before arriving we would have left immediately.

There are countless b&bs and hotels in the region and apart from the backpackers, this is probably at the bottom!

Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else!!!!!
