“Fantastic”

Blue Lake National Park
Reviewed February 28, 2014

Roughly a 3km walk but absolutely worth it - beautiful water, amazing serenity and peaceful and quiet. The swim alone was worth it. Will definitely go again.

It is a nice lake and if you are keen worth the walk, but don't do it on a hot day, it looks like the goal is to slowly close off all the worth while attractions on the Island or at least make them as hard as possible to get to
It is a beautiful Island but there are more don't do signs on the Island than directions to worthwhile attractions. So if you do want to walk in there go for it.

Took the 5.2km route to Blue Lake. You can swim in the lake, so take your towel and bathers. The access to the water is limited but there were plenty of people swimming the day we were there. On the return walk, we took the service vehicle road and walked past Tortoise Lagoon where we heard and saw male Spotted Marsh Frogs.
A pleasant walk, not too difficult. Don't forget the sunscreen and your camera.

All that way for a lake? Way better views at point lookout! Walked ages to the lake along a sandy path and was disappointed at the attraction.

The walk is about 5km round trip and although a nice bushy area with some fine gum trees on display the lake itself was a bit of a let down. Maybe we didn't go far enough in but we did walk for a good 1.5 hours and felt a little let down as there wasn't an area where you could relax and take in the lake. Brown Lake much nicer and equipped with picnic tables.
