We initially had a hiccup with booking via Joel at divethereef.com company and not directly with Lady Musgrave cruises. We had been under charged by $100 each. The receptionist dealt with this quickly. Although we had to pay and I doubt we would have received the deposit from divethereef.com.

When boarded we had clear instructions as to where to be & what time for our dives. Only downside is we would miss the reef walk as we were doing 2 dives.

Double checks on the body count - a nice saftey touch.

Lovely history lesson on the trip out. A fair few sea sick people, and the crew were well equipped and ready for this. Even doing rounds of collecting used bags, replacing & checking customers - thoughtful :)

Yummy snacks provided when docked.

Dive one - briefed than taken to a remote area by speed boat. Depth between of 18m. Gorgeous sights. Sadly the effects of the coral eating slug is evident. Still some lush areas & sea life. Saw one nursery shark & turtle. Depending on your air consumption - 45min under is what I did.

Lunch was a good selection. Cold meats, salads, pasta & fruit.

Dive two - depth of 6m. More lively & colorful coral seen. Again 45min duration.

More snacks than a more gentle ride back to the town of 1770.

Thank Olivia W

“Choppy! Disorganised”
Reviewed December 6, 2013 via mobile

Just got home from a lovely week in 1770. Decided to end the week with a trip to Lady musgrave. I was abit concerned in the morning that the weather was so bad it would cancel our trip. I was really expecting it to be cancelled as apparently it had been a few days before for similar weather.
My advise DO NOT go if the sea is choppy. Half the passengers vomited on the way out. The other half on the way back in. And not just a bit. It was a constant hurl for 90 mins
Staff were pretty good, although it was apparent by their giggles that they were almost relishing the passengers discomfort. They were friendly enough but honestly the boat should never have gone out in that weather.
The Pontoon is too small for the number of passengers. Food is ordinary bought in salad and cakes.mini sub not working. Island tour pretty boring and really they should allow abit of free time in one spot. Abit too regimented and like a school trip.
To rub the salt in...after a horrendous trip back they had misread the tide times and we had to sit at the river mouth bobbing uncontrollably just to make sure everyone on board had a chance to spu, for half an hour. Ridiculous as we could of had more time at the safe sheltered lagoon had they checked before setting off.
I would like my money back as i feel i was totally ripped off and taken on journey through hell. It is probably nice on a good weather day but for what we paid they should consider not running the boat in bad conditions.

“Great Day Out”
Reviewed December 5, 2013

Bit worried as told the forecast for the trip was rough and to take seasick pills, been of seafaring stock gave the pills a miss, but the trip was very rough and surprised more people were not sick, maybe they took the pills ( we did not get sick in case you were wondering), crew were bright and breezy and very good with the sick, boat ok. It was beautiful out at the Island, but I feel that you would have to
snorkel to really get your monies worth, lunch was ok, would recommend but don't forget to put suntan lotion on the back of your legs when snorkeling got very sunburnt.

“Highlight of my trip to Oz”
Reviewed November 29, 2013

I'd previously enjoyed a Barrier Reef trip from Pt Douglas but this was even better. It was a beautiful clear day and so our view of the thousands of fish and corals was sensational. The shallow lagoon and the sunlight brought out the colours beautifully. I'm not a confident swimmer so the flotation devices enabled me to snorkle for over two hours without worrying. The visit to the Island from the Pontoon via the glass bottomed boat broke the day up nicely and the food was simple, plentiful and very enjoyable. The staff were attentive and friendly. Highly Recommended.
WARNING- even if you don't usually get motion sickness, have breakfast and take a pill half an hour before the journey out. It is like a roller coaster ride even on a calm day. I followed this advice and was fine, even though I have a tendency towards it.

“A nice cruise”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

It was our first snorkeling experience on the Great Barrier Reef and we really enjoyed it! There were a lot of people on the boat and they divided us into small groups so there weren’t many people at the same time in the water. We saw 5 turtles from very close, a great experience! But the reef itself was not so good and a bit damaged.
The water was a bit cold when we were there and we think that the swimsuit should be included in the price.
