We stayed here on a Monday night and it was not too busy so suspect we scored an upgrade which was nice. We had a 2 bedroom apartment on the side facing Woolies from which we could see the ocean. The desk check in staff made sure to explain how the parking worked which was helpful, as another reviewer mentioned it is not entirely obvious. When I explained my husband was going in for dental surgery that day they gave us a late checkout which was much appreciated.
The apartment itself was lovely - spacious, well laid out and tastefully decorated. (My brother-in-law the architect would approve). Master bedroom had a king bed with most excellent pillows. I am very fussy about pillows but this time actually used theirs instead of the one I brought. The bathrooms were amazing! The ensuite had the most massive bathtub I have seen, my eight-year-old was delighted to be able to completely lie down in it, my six-year old said it was like a swimming pool and I have to admit I had a soak in there too - don't worry water wastage police, we used the same water ;)
Having the shopping centre close by meant we could try cooking in house, and the kitchen was well equipped enough to accommodate this. (although I would have liked to try the restaurant or one of the others nearby - maybe next time) There was a bit of noise in the evening, seemed like a few hoons about even on a Monday night! but closing the doors blocked the noise and the climate control aircon works just fine.
I checked out the pool and it is a lovely "designer" type infinity pool with lounge chairs on the deck nearby, looked very relaxing but not especially kid-friendly... not to worry though because across the street is the "Lagoon" which isn't at all what the name brings to mind... it's a lovely Southbank-like swimming area with adjoining playground, marvellous for families. The kids and I rode our scooters along the bayfront path, stopping off at playgrounds along the way and a snack at the pier, then came back for a swim. What a terrific spot. I would love to come back again sometime.
