I did not stay at the hotel I am a Redcliffe local, Really the food in the Monkomo Hotel Restaurant/ Bar was not very good its pretentious and badly cooked and served cold and so I don’t know what Simon Pettigrew’s their supposedly acclaimed chefs, claim to fame actually is. But its not good quality well cooked food although it well decorated and presented and the place is great and service is very good but the food is at best bistro average and lets it down especially at the price.

But if it’s not that good what matter the price it doesn’t change things does it. I like to get what I paid for $40 for a main course for and in this case it was lacking. Will go back but only for a hamburger next time as it looked pretty good.

Here is a tip if you want a good steak, you can get a better steak for $10 cheaper at the steak house across the road. Better cooked and Better Quality beef.

I have stayed at this new complex on 3 separate occasions this year. Located a stone throw from the beach it is now firmly on my list each time I visit Brisbane. The property opened in early 2011 and I stayed there the first time only a week or two after this. On each occasion I was impressed with the quality of the property and the friendliness of the staff. A Bar and restaurant is due to open before Christmas and this can only add to the enjoyment. If you want to stay in the northern suburbs you should give this a try.

Room Tip: Book a room with Ocean views

my wife and i stayed for a few nights and found the rooms spacious and exceptionally clean. The check in clerk named bernadette however was extremely rude and unaccomdating. When we arrived she was telling off another staff member for all to hear and when checking us in i felt as though we were an inconvenience. I was even more upset when i asked her where a good place to eat was and her response was how should i know i dont eat out in redcliffe. The general manager should be concerned.

I stayed with friends for 2 nights and 1 night with my husband, on our wedding night. We had all been looking forward to staying at Mon Komo for many months as it was for a very special occasion.
We had 3 different rooms in total, all were ocean views. The balcony's were perfect for sitting on the comfortable couches and watching the gorgeous 180 degree views of moreton Bay. The furnishings were of a relaxed coastal style and in excellent condition, as would be expected with a brand new hotel.

We were surprised to note that the master bedroom in the 2 bedroom apartment is at the back and doesn't have views overlooking the water. The second bedroom is at the front and has lovely views and balcony. If you booked just a one bedroom this would be the main bedroom so not so bad.

The underground parking is a bit confusing to find on the first go and the swipe card reader is hard to get at.

We were all a little disappointed by the demeanor of the staff working at reception throughout our stay. We felt that they all lacked any kind of friendliness and hospitality. Mon Komo is hardly a CBD hotel catering to stressed out business-people. We would have appreciated a nice 'welcome to Mon Komo' and a smile every now and then. A little friendliness can go a long way.

We did have the pleasure of meeting some of the housekeeping staff on a couple of occasions and these ladies were absolutely the epitome of professionalism, combined with a little bit of sunshine. Thanks ladies.

Got a good deal on an ocean view 1 bedroom. Loved the balcony with the sofa to reline on. Great views.

Very new and clean, modern. Full kitchen, laundry facilities with washer and dryer in your apartment.

Ample undercover parking underneath.

Right across the road from the shops - supermarket, restaurants etc. Very handy.

My only gripes - construction work still going on (according to website should have finished by mid 2011 - hence I thought Id be fine staying end of October!) They started at 6am after I'd had a late night out on the town!

The laundry leaked, wet floor everywhere. (badly installed plumbing)

The airconditioner is locked so that you cannot adjust the temperature much (locked at 22-25 I think from memory)

No TV in the bedroom.

Room Tip: Worth paying for the ocean view.

It is worthy of the highest praise for the sheer opulence and luxurious standards of comfort this hotel apartment accommodation offers to its fortunate guests who have chosen to stay within its walls.
Nothing can prepare you for the wide eyed impact induced on entering the apartment, which continues to rise in intensity as you view each of the rooms available for your pleasure and delight. The gourmet kitchen area is extremely well equipped with high specification equipment installed for the preparation of elaborate meals, with a convenient adjacent dining area featuring a quality dining table and 4 chairs. These facilities ensure a "home from home" atmosphere has been professionally created to meet even the most exacting standards of the most discerning guests.

The main impact is a strong desire to return and enjoy this experience over a longer period of time, such is the overwhelming sense of pampering and luxury when staying at Mon Komo.
It has been so impressive that already plans have been formulated to include a longer stay in 2012 to soak up this opulence and live life at the palatial end of the spectrum; you will be simply astounded.

Room Tip: choose a double room on a high floor for he best ocean views.

Nice new property in Redcliffe QLD. Room was a good size, clean and tidy as expected in a new property. Ample car parking but needs better written instructions on where to park. V v close to supermarket and cafes/ restaurants and waterfront. Didn't have a waterfront view but still ok.
