Location, location, location - Beach Front! Booked in for 4 nights and stayed for 5. Would have been longer if we didn't have to get home. Loved being right near the beach (campers in front of us but still great views), great for long, easy walks. The pool, while not large but clean and great to cool off. As for the Corrugation Bar, great place to chill out of an afternoon with a drink and a good book or chat to other travellers. The meals were really good especially the wood fired pizzas. Food & Drinks were reasonably priced. The grounds as a whole were clean and tidy with good facilities for a camp ground. Nice big sites. Maintenance program is obviously well under way and looking good. Thanks to Ann and Rob for a great stay.

Room Tip: Get in early and check out the sites

Fantastic location slap bang on the beach even had our helicopter that took us to TI land on the beach out side our tent. Bar and Restaurant is very welcoming with great service, food and cold beer.
The only downside, which has nothing to do with the camp, is the Alcohol limits when you are passing through to stay at this great spot. We all got hefty fines and our alcohol taken ( I wonder were it ended up!) when the Police stopped us. We understood as bonafide travellers passing through we were ok. There were 4 vehicles traveling together. Cost us all $2100.00. Takes the shine off the trip. Don't understand it really. Would recommend this campground. Cleanliness needs a little addressing, but overall GREAT.

Punsand Bay is an amazing place to stay, in a great location. The beach is spectacular (despite not being able to swim in it due to the wildlife), the restaurant caters well as an alternative to camp food, and is an easy drive to the tip of Australia.

Spent 4 nights at Punsand Bay after traveling the Old Telegraph Track with a group of 9. The amenities were basic and needed a good clean. Beautiful view to the Torres Strait Islands. Sunrise was the best time for photos. For those who want beachfront sites, ask for non powered. The only drawback with our site, was that other campers who want to use their mobiles, could only get reception near the beach, so thought it appropriate to stand near our tent to talk. The corrugation bar served well priced meals and drinks.

6 of us travelled up from Victoria staying at many camp parks along the way, it's a long way to to the top and to get such an amazing place as punsand it's well worth the drive.
Beautiful beach, and camp ground, very clean, well priced all round for sites food and drinks! Great times had at the corragation bar!
The serviced toped this place off for us, they couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating! Well all be back hear and would recommend this place to anyone travelling up top in a heartbeat!

We enjoyed our stay at Punsand - beautiful sunrises and sunsets and balmy weather. This is right at the top of Australia so we didn't expect miracles. The amenities were average but usable. Beware the campfire smoke of others though!! Other guests had very little consideration and left large fires burning unattended day and night. If you are not having a fire (it was hot there) be aware that you will stink of smoke anyway. It did impact on our impression of the place.

Great beach, great bar!
Our camp site was right on the beach and nice and grassy.
Bathrooms were clean most of the time, the older concrete block being the most pleasant.
We did a helicopter tour of the tip right off the beach in front of the bar, the chopper from Cape York Helicopters seems to be there most days, well worth the money.
Maybe too big an ask for a camp ground but if the pool was replaced with something better I would give them 5 stars.
