“Wonderful!”
Reviewed August 22, 2013 via mobile

We stayed in a three-bedroom apartment with friends visiting from the UK and were all very happy. We had a view of the ocean over the sand dunes and enjoyed one of evening meals on the balcony listening to the waves. The apartment was large and very well furnished. We had everything we needed. The front bedroom had awesome views but the two smaller ones at the back did not, which was a shame but we recognise it is hard to get views from every room! We accessed the beach by walking over the sand dunes below our balcony and the town is only a 20 minute walk along the beach. Will be returning. Thank you!

Hi Irene,
It was great to hear you and your friends had a great stay and that you will be returning. The views are, as you mention, awesome and it was a shame you missed the additional bonus of bright full moons we have been getting recently. With the moon reflecting on the sea and the clear star lit night sky it is an unforgettable experience.
All the apartments are very spacious and fully self-contained so you have choice when planning your return stay.
We look forward to seeing you again Irene.

If you are after the units with the better ocean views, ask for the top floors of Banksia and Pandanus unit blocks. Acacia and Grevillea have partial ocean view, but mainly overlook the swimming pools. Units that overlook the pools could be very noisy in summer, but have the advantage of being able to keep an eye on one’s children. Some of the top floor units (e.g. 212-13, 316-17) have a veranda area that shares a common “sail roof” with adjacent apartments. While there is visual privacy with the adjacent unit, the sail roof reflects the noise and one can hear all conversations from the adjacent veranda with clarity. (Of course, one can always retreat inside the unit and turn on the A/C.) Personally, I would avoid the ground floor unless it just a spot to sleep. Discuss room options with reception when booking. (Pavillions could really do with a site map on their web site to assist with unit selection.)

Be aware that local beach is not patrolled (patrolled beach is a 15 minute walk away) and there are ocean marine stingers from Nov to May. (Hence, the excellent array of swimming pools in the complex). However, the local beach is fantastic for that morning or afternoon walk. Public transport in the area (Agnes Water and surrounds) is limited and it is best to have private transport or a car rental if staying.

Personally, I found the main bed too hard (others would find it acceptable) and the shower was rather ordinary (thanks to water restrictions at the time it was built). The complex was almost empty when we stay, but I imagine it could be very busy in the summer holidays.

The unit we stayed in was well equipped, well maintained, reasonably clean, and in good condition. Agnes Water and 1770 are great places just to chill out and we fell in love with the area. The Pavilion is on our return to list.

HiWhyNot Me,
Thank you for sharing your obviously enjoyable experience at Pavillions on 1770 and to hear you are going to return and enjoy Pavillions and beautiful Agnes Water and 1770.
Regarding your comment about the possibility of marine stingers occurring from Nov to May this period is noted as a very conservative precaution on the nearby beach entrance sign. The reality has been that stinger presence has not been an issue and is very limited to occasional and unusual events.
We look forward to seeing you again.

We stayed here for our friends wedding. We had a 1 bedroom on the top floor in the 1st building over looking the lap pool. The resort had hardly anyone there (it was mainly the wedding guests) so it was very quiet.

The apartments are huge! Very well layed out and most are 2/3 bedrooms however they just lock the bedrooms you don't need. I like that it had 2nd bathroom which we could use even though we weren't using the 2nd bedroom.

One thing I wasn't too impressed about was the cleanliness of the cutlery & crockery. A wine glass had lipstick on the rim and some of the knives had food on them. The dish drainer thing was useless as a wine glass rolled off it and exploded everywhere on the floor.

The leather coaches & recliners were very comfy. Only the couches reclined and the chairs were turned off (it was electric) which was fine as this was in front of the TV. The TV in the bedroom could've been a bit higher on the wall.

The bathroom was nice and big. Like all hotels, needed an exhaust fan and a door on the shower as the water went in every direction. The spa bath was very relaxing.

Will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a top floor room. This place is also within walking distance of the surf club (if you have a...

Hi Olivia,
Thank your for your review and your comments on the size of your apartment, the layout and the big bathroom and large spa bath. The apartments are very spacious and some guests have remarked they are like a house. We note your other comments and advise that the standard Miele dishwashers have glassware trays and it is possible the wrong tray was selected. We apologise for the condition of a glass and some cutlery you have mentioned - we can assure you that the glassware and cutlery was sanitised. We recall you arrived early when the apartment was still being cleaned and we rushed to make the apartment available to you so no pre guest check made.
Thank you for your advice regarding the height bedroom TV which we will check. We appreciate your comments.

We stayed for the weekend of 28/29 June for our 15th wedding anniversary. Fabulous accommodation - massive spa, exceptional kitchen, dock for ipod, large flat screen - just excellent. Underground parking. Fronts onto beach - walked the whole length of the beach - 3 hrs return!

Spent a night here over the recent long weekend. Wish we could have stayed longer.
Extremely comfortable and well appointed. 50m to beach (unpatrolled section).
Courtesy bus for local tavern and other restaurants will pick up and drop off to the door.

Fabulous value for location and facilities.

Hi Brodica,
Thank you for your comments that your apartment was extremely comfortable and well appointed and great value for location and facilities. Such a shame you couldn't have stayed longer.
We hope you have the time to come for a longer stay, which is well priced and will be a lot more relaxing than a lightning one night stay.
We look forward to seeing you again.

We stayed in apartment 212 for the second time in 6 months after a friend recommended this place. The Pavillions is a very modern, comfortable resort and the apartment was perfect for a relaxing beach holiday. There were six of us this time and the apartment was spacious and well designed so that we didn't feel cramped. The decor is also very tasteful which isn't always the case with holiday rentals! The kitchen facilities are excellent and we ate many meals sitting on the terrace listening to the waves. The beach is only two minutes walk but we made good use of the huge pool. Marion and John the managers are most helpful and friendly, giving us good suggestions about local features and maintaining the property in an excellent state. We would love to stay there again.
