Litchfield National Park is one of the NT truly natural beauties. The water holes are superb and the picnic areas truly lovely.

Great spot to visit if you want a nice refreshing swim. There are a fair few stairs so be warned. Make sure you dont dry off before you head back up the stairs though, because you'll need another swim!

Litchfield was simply superb. We went to the smaller water holes in the morning and saved Wangi until around 3pm when all the tourist coaches have left. We found it easy enough to do on our own without a tour. Amazing to swim in the falls.

Dont be in a hurry when you visit Litchfield. You could easily take a picnic lunch in the esky and spend all day in one of the many waterholes. They are safe swimming and the NT ranger check them
Leave Litchfield as you find it and you wont be sorry

When the waterfalls have stopped flowing in Kakadu after the dry season, they are still flowing at Litchfield. Only just over an hour from Darwin is the year round beautiful Litchfield with beautiful swimming spots. The cascades were our favourite!
