“Litchfield Park - awesome waterfalls”
Reviewed October 9, 2012

We only spent 2 days in Litchfield, but that was enough to see what we needed to see. We saw the magnetic Termite mounds that look like tomb stones, Florence Falls.. this was OK - very difficult to get to water due to the slippery rocks that you have to cross and I actually fell and sliced open my knee, so not a favourite of mine, but the kids loved it. We also went to Wangi Falls and this was fantastic, easy to get to with a Photography platform for taking the best shots of the falls - just brilliant.

“Always brilliant...don't miss this on an NT visit”
Reviewed October 5, 2012

This was our third visit to Litchfield and we had a great visit again. We did notice that due to the cold winter season the water was bloody cold in comparison to when we visited previously in October, but it was certainly refreshing! Enjoyed the new walk to Cascades which is another jewel in the Litchfield crown...well done Territory Parks and Wildlife service - top spot!

Litchfield National Park has some great walks which are all very achievable without too much difficulty. Good access tracks are in place to reach all of the top tourist spots and the acess road is maintained in good condition. One of the more delighful walks (and there are quite a few) is the walking trail between Florence Falls and Buley Rockhole. The feature is the exquisite stone pathwork which compliments the beauty and quality of this walk which follows a pristine creek though light wooded areas and rainforest areas. Our other favorite Litchfield walk is Walker Creek which follows the creek and thankfully a number of rockholes as reward as one meanders on a hot day.

The only down side was that we were visiting in the prime tourism time and we did have difficulty obtaining a camp site for our Maui Campervan. We were hoping that we could stay at the public campground at Wangi Falls however there were no sites left at our arrival at 2pm and so we had to go to a privately operated caravan park close-by. As you would except (so far from competition and civilisation) this was not a four star operation. A tip to anyone staying here get an unpowered site so that you are away from the generator! Our next visit to Litchfield with be towards the start of the 'build up' or wet season, where the tourists are fewer and the water warmer...can't wait!

I can't remember the name of all the water falls etc but there were a few and they were all very nice. There was also a few really good swimming holes. I will definitely come back one day when we have more timeto spend

“Water Holes and Waterfalls”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

Florence and Wangi Falls are well worth a visit.
Acces to Florence falls is via lots of steps down to the falls or a 1 kilometre walk through the bush. The falls have sheer, tall rock walls on three sides, with a waterfall cascading down one side. There are no crocs and the water is fabulous to swim in. There are toilets next to the car park.
Acess to Wangi falls is much easier. A short path leads right to the falls. The waterfalls were running when we were there. There were no crocs. The water was beautiful. There were clean toilets, barbeques and a food van on site. A great place for a picnic ande to spend the day.

“Safari in the Park”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

By far te best experience I have had in ages in Australia would be this Safari in Litchfield National Park. It was so exhiliarating and fun even though I am in my 60's. The lunch provided was delicious and the swim was cool and the tour guide was informative and so much fun. We saw so much of interest and could not help feeling like one happy family as it caters for 13 at a trip. I learnt a lot as well and felt so relaxed and happy on this trip. I recommend it to all who visit Darwin. Bruno the guide was a fantastic person to take you around a take care of you.
