When I first read about this museum on our planned trip to Eden, I had put it in the "to give a miss" basket. However following the recommendation on the Cat Balou cruise, we went along and were very impressed! A great museum with a lot if local history about the killer whales (a truly amazing story!), whaling but also a range of history and interesting items including the fishing, forrestry industry, military, communications and a great black and white photography exhibition. Well worth the $7 entry fee for adults. A great little museum!

Thank goodness we don't hunt Whales anymore.

This is a lovely museum run by dedicated volunteers and staff and well worth visiting. Facinating facts and artifacts regarding the very unique (and horrible) history of the orcas part in the whaling of Eden. Tells the story of Eden and its industries that supported the town, from whaling, the canning factory, the timber industry, and some very good Aboriginal history of the area.

Some really good guides giving 'lessons' on the lighthouses and life of the keepers.

Well worth visiting. Cost was $9.00 per adult.

This was a facinating small museum which focused the whales and the old whaling industry in Eden. I learned so much! There is an excellent short film and I learned that the biodiversity of that part of the coast of NSW can only be matched by Antarctica. There is a skeleton of a killer whale which used to assist the whalers to herd other whales towards their boats. They would give him the lips and tongue as a reward. It was also interesting to learn all the ways the different parts of the whale were used. Well worth the visit!

Although the museum is quite small, there is some interesting history and artefacts contained within. It helps bring home the story of whaling as it use to be in the area and appreciate the industry as it use to be.
