First thing to know is that this place has recently had a name change. It is now called the Hotel Baker. My GPS took us to the correct spot using the old name.

Decent hotel in Gaspe. There are not tons of choices so nice to get a good one.

The room was large and clean with a fridge. Bathroom looked like it had been recently redone. Very quiet and away from the highway. Only was able to get a Queen bed though. Can't remember whether that was there were no Kings or I was too cheap.

Staff was very nice and helpful. At check in the lady spoke English very well. She also gave we a $15 discount because when I booked the Hotel des Commandants gave a free continental breakfast and the Hotel Baker had discontinued that practice. So that was good.

A decent price in a place with not a lot of options and close to Forillon National Park. The place also has a bar and restaurant but we did not try it.

We would stay here again.

We booked this Hotel on Hotels.com. It was a last minute choice due to availability. We got into Gaspe later in the evening, was exhausted and hungry. Could not find this Hotel using GPS. Apparently, the name had changed and the entrance was on a side street. We were so frustrated. Then we finally parked and checked in only to be told there was no breakfast included as we paid for. They plan to reimburse us $15.00 CAN. Wow.
This stop was 1/2 way thru our trip.
We asked if they has laundry facilities and of course, the check-in clerk spoke minimal English. She said no but it was a good idea. We should suggest it. Are you kidding me?
The hotel was clean but we were very glad we only booked 1 night. It was great to continue our trek to Perce.

We booked the room for two nights stating that we'd need wheelchair accessibility. When we got there we were told our room was on the second floor and here's the key. Wait a second I said. Is there an elevator? No it was just seven steps to go up. When I explained about the wheelchair for my husband he said they only have one wheelchair accessible room and it was booked for the night. Also the music festival was beginning and all the hotels were booked solid. So I was a little nervous about what we were going to do. After some thought they contacted the gentleman who was in the room and asked him if he would mind switching rooms with me. Since he was not entirely dependent on the wheelchair he said he didn't mind. So we had a room but the only way to get to it is by the outside. You have to wheel your way through the parking lot out to the street and down a small narrow driveway all uphill! The desk clerk had to help me push my husband up the hill to get to the room. The room, though, was wheelchair accessible: large shower, separate tub etc. We ended up here for four nights instead of two as our car broke down in Perce and had to be towed back to Gaspe. We waited for two days for the dealer to order parts and repair the car. The hotel was fine with us staying the extra nights but the best was the lady who cleans the room. She made sure we had k-cups, condiments and towels. Overall, we felt this room was excellent but the location of the room was not ideal for someone in a wheelchair. The location of the hotel is excellent. I walked to Tim Horton's--all uphill on the way back!! Lots of little shops and restaurants in the area too. The restaurant in the hotel is good but limited on choice we found.

Room tip: They only have one wheelchair accessible room.

Gaspe is a beautiful area to visit,p. The hotel was not easy to find as they changed their name to Baker hotel. It was a good size hotel updated....but the double rooms with balcony was worth it. You will get to sit out fir a drink and see the water view, just beautiful. Very close to shops including a 5 minute walk or so to Tom Hortins and McDs. There are cute little shops for souvenirs, other restaurants to have great seafood. No need to drive if you stay here. A small note, when you ask for double beds, you walk in the room and see one bed, but the other is tucked away in the wall. Not too comfy but did the job for our boys. The view was amazing.

Overall a good resort which had a nice restaurant and provided movie night which we didn't get too as our time didn't allow it. We had beautiful weather and didn't want to spend our time indoors, but they also have a pool and an arcade for kids.
