Description: The Manor House Inn sits in the pretty village of Croyde with glorious sandy beaches and delightful countryside. The original pub in Croyde is a 16th century former coaching inn, where the old coach house still stands. There is a large restaurant & conservatory overlooking the courtyard and large children's play area. The bar is spacious and in character with the building, where there is a wide range of local ales, ciders and beers along with an extensive wine list. A freshly prepared, locally sourced menu & specials board is available every day, from local fish, meats & vegetables to simple sandwiches. There is also a comprehensive children's menu. We show all major sporting events via Sky &BT Sport on our large screens as well as regular live music, pool table, darts and skittles. You can be sure of a warm welcome at The Manor House Inn - just as it should be!!!

An enjoyable evening meal - quantity of meats could have been more generous! Selection of fresh vegetables was excellent! Great play area outside which is a bonus for children!

It was a carvery and it was on a Wednesday - little more to say really.
Food hot tasty & plentiful, real ale available, easy walk from our B&B.
Busy, but then again it was early evening in the school holidays in a popular pub on carvery night, so to be expected.

We had eaten at the manor previously and had an alright meal. On a busy Friday night it was the only place with room to sit so we thought we would take our friends to eat there again. Unfortunately our experience was fairly average - I was disappointed to find that the 'crusty bread' promised with my bouillabaisse was firstly forgotten, and when it arrived comprised the (very small) dry end of a cheap loaf. The bouillabaisse itself was delicious and a good sized portion but the juice could have done with a more generous amount of (decent) bread to mop it up with. Our South African friend was excited to try his first steak and ale pie, and was very disappointed with an over salted, grey bowl of stew with a puff pastry lid plonked on top. His carrots also tasted as though they were starting to ferment - hardly the fresh vegetables offered on the menu. The pork belly was apparently good, and the burger was ok. All in all, we felt that the food was more in keeping with wetherspoons quality at gastro pub prices. Either the price should come down to match the food, or the chef should start to take some more pride in his/her work. And don't go cheap on bread - it shows.

A busy pub/restaurant on the edge of Croyde Village. The service was pretty good considering they were busy, and we were still able to get a meal when we arrived at 9.45pm on a friday night. Fish and chips was fresh and tasty, with crisp un-greasy batter, though there were a few bones in the fish. My wife was less impressed with her chicken caesar salad, which tasted of anchovies even though she'd asked to have it without. It was noisy, with people having to talk loudly/shout to have a conversation over the noise of the live music - is there any pub band anywhere with a little more imagination than singing Mustang Sally. In a village with restaurants/pubs as good as The Thatch and Hobb's Bistro, The Manor doesn't quite cut it.
