We stayed in Sandbanks in the last week in May. It is in a great location for the local town which is an easy walk away, and with all that you'd want from your local town. The bungalow was well equipped, clean, modern, and with a great outdoor space. Wi-FI was good, and the bungalow was in a quiet location. The only negative was the fact that there were no wardrobes to hang clothing up, just coat hangers on the back of the doors, We were only two so no problem but if a family this would have been a pain. We spent many hours walking around the area, loved going to Saunton Sands, Croyde Bay, and other local beaches. We had coffee at Saunton Hotel which overlooked the bay, and was a great place to relax. Also ate at the beach grill during one evening, and the food was fab. Got a little chilly and we were supplied with fur rugs to keep us warm.
We ate in Braunton a couple of times, once at the Thai restaurant, The Siam Bistro, which was great with very friendly service and good food, and once at the Williams Arms. We met up with friends with a dog, so were limited as to where we could eat, otherwise we would have tried a few other places for meals as the selection of restaurants and cafe's were good within the vicinity.
The best walk we did was from Lynton to the Valley of the Rocks. Simply stunning walk with fabulous views.
Loved North Devon, and will be back as so many other places to visit and walk.
lovely bungalow ideal location near to woolacombe Croyde and Ilfracombe. Plenty of room for two adults and two teenagers. Cycled the tarka Trail to Barnstaple. Fish and chips at Squires in Braunton are lovely
Fantastic place. Well worth the 5hr drive to!!! Sandbanks is clean, modern and very well maintained. Felt like home and we was very comfortable. Was sad to leave! Will definitely be booking again in the next few months.
