ok... don't be shocked when you turn up and see a grotty little hotel, that IS where you booked (the joys of last minute deals without pictures!). Despite the pleading with the taxi driver to find our "real" hotel, she left us here...
we arrived at about midnight and the front door was locked so had to wake up the "night man" who was asleep at reception/ the table in the entrance.
checking in was a problem as the tour operator had not sent us the "hotel coupons" we needed, however, i had called the day before direct to the hotel and let them know this was the case.... and the person on the phone said this would not be a problem. Night man, after swearing a lot, made it clear that he was not convinced that we were legitimate, paying customers and told us he would deal with it in the morning (in the mean time, myself and my best friend were working out how much money we had on credit cards to pay for a new hotel!!).
we were taken up to our hotel room and it was tiny but perfectly clean and tidy. the bathroom was a good size (bath and shower attatchment) and there was a wardrobe. this said, however, there was no safe to hire, no air con and a view of a brick wall meters from our window, even though we were so close to the beach.
the next morning it was confirmed that the hotel owner did receive our message and that we were paying customers so the hotel staff stopped swearing quite so much.
on exploring the area we were delighted to find that we were right in the centre of the old town amongst shops, bars, restaurants and the beach which was absolutely perfect for what we wanted (and very surprising given the price).
breakfast was toast or croissant and OJ and the maid came to clean and tidy daily and night man woke up to let us in every night with a few hefty knocks. Be aware that there is no bar, no restaurant and no pool in the hotel but plenty around it.
overall, perfect location for two young girls looking for a cheap spanish getaway with fantastic beach (steps away) shops, food and drink but i would deffinatly not book if you are looking for luxury (or any form of comfort), a family holiday with children or anything cultural.
i would recommend this hotel to by best friend, but only because she came too and we have very low standards! lol
