Santa Cristina Hotel
Ranked #92 of 124 Hotels in Lloret de Mar
Reviewed July 15, 2009

After being told that we were staying in a different hotel we were dumped at the side of the road and pointed to the dated yellow and blue hotel in hte distance. Inside things got a lot worse. The staff spoke very little english and made no effort to try and help/understand you. The rooms were disgusting, rusty nails sticking out of the floor, loose tiles on the floor, mould all around the taps in bathroom. The top sheet on the bed had holes in it. The bedside lamp did not work. The fridge did not work and was not clean! Only one of the two electrical sockets in the room worked. The hotel was full of students who were noisy and rude. Unfortunatly i can not tell you about the food as i couldn't bring myself to eat anything in the hotel for fear of food poisioning. I only wonder who gives the stars out in Lloret de Mar as they clearly need to get down the opticians pronto.

Room spacious and very clean with comfortable bed. Food not elaborate but fine. Plenty of meat, fish, veg, salad and fruit. We did not buy a drink in the Dining Room but drinks and snacks available free from 10am till midnight at the bar and rarely had to queue for drinks.
Last day there were 8 Brits with a transfer problem, The Receptionist who spoke little English spent 2 hours sorting out all the different transfer times. Various nationalities at the Hotel which we enjoyed. Lively daytime and quiet after midnight which was unlike previous Hotels we have stayed in Lloret.. Good value for money.

I have never been to such a run down disgusting hotel/youth hostel. Upon arrival into the hotel we were greeted by an odour that can at best be described as body odours mixed in with dirt. Dirty plastic cups were used, drinks were warm and flat and plastic cup rinsed out after each drink and given back to you. Chips and urine in the pool. The food was half cooked in a VAT and re-fryed if you wish to eat it, burgers and hotdogs were kept in a VAT with the salad and the chips had dead flies accompanying them.
Rooms: Rusty Nail in Bathroom, Mould on Sink in Bathroom, Mould on Bath in Bathroom
Broken toilet – once flushed would flush constantly, Ants on the shelf in bathroom, 4 loose floor tiles , 3 camp beds in the middle of the room, none of the sheets appeared to be cleaned/pressed. Holes in the top sheets, Floor filthy, when taking off shoes after tripping over lose tiles I walked to the bathroom and back and my feet were black.
We booked this as allocation on arrival, i am sure this is the only away they get any business, this should be re-classified as a youth hostel.

I spent a few days with my partner at this hotel and it was quite nice, we got what we paid for, the atmosphere was nice and yes, there were Germans but other nationalities too, I didn't feel left out at all and I thought that everything in general was correct. I would not mind going back during the same period next year.

booked a weeks allocated on arrival wih sun for you. didnt recieve email straight away, when i did recieve it i had been allocated the eugenia,so i went straight on to tripadvisor read reviews was concerned about what i read and did ask too change hotel, was told that no other was avaliable so went with an open mind. on arrival entrance looked ok checked in went to room,it was clean and ok.went for tea the food was very poor lack of choices, cold, did stuggle to find things too eat yes there was a microwave to heat food up.they did allow english to take one drink from only the pool bar served allday and evening in plastic cups, there was a nice bar inside but wasnt for all inclusive guests. the pool was a joke with only approx 20 sun beds and this aera didnt appear to be very clean. now on to german teenagers using the hotel as a hostal there was loads of them, they were rude played loud music till about 1am in the morning running up and down the corridoors knocking on your doors and shouting, found out that the teachers were on the top floor, they oviously like to sleep.in the mornings watched them cleening there teeth on the balcony and spitting on staff cars below they were drinking alcohol and throwing bottles and tins over balcony not to mention underwear. i would strongly reccomend you dont bother to go there.we complained to sun 4 u and eventually after 3 nights off no sleep we was moved thankfully. far better up market hotel which did deserve its 4 star rateing unlike the eugenia which i would rate at 2 star. i would not ever of left a review but did feel that others need to know about this hotel. bloody nightmare, please listen, it for your own good and be carefull on allocated on arrival in the costa brava they fill alot of the hotels in june july and august with teenagers on school trips.

Read reviews then spoke to Sun4U with my concerns. They ASSURED me that all the problems had been sorted that were on the reviews....so like a fool.. I believed them!

This is the worst hotel I have ever stepped foot nside. No way is it a 4 star. I would not even class it as a 1 star hostel. Food looked disgusting, I was afraid to try it because I value my health. You wil love it if you enjoy Eastern european and German teenagers and kids running riot through corridors and up and down in the one lift all day whilst their parents stagger to and from the make shift bar by the so called pool for their top ups....We spent one hour in the place and that was far too long. The holiday company Sun4U are a waste of space and nothing but con artists.I would advise anyone to be very careful when booking with them because once they have your money they really do not care anymore. They know their accomodation is awful and lie to you until you part with hard earned cash. The only way this hotel could be made a 4 star is if they knocked it down and rebuilt it with new staff, clients and furniture.....Hope you don't make the same mistake as me, the good reviews on here are obviously employees of Sun4U.......

Customer service here was terrible, the only important people here are the Germans. We went all inclusive and had to pay for a drink with our meal in the dining room. There was no entertainment at night time and the pool was no way near big enough. Although the food was nice it was the same stuff everyday. No English reps and there was hairs in our sink in the bathroom the day we arrived. I'm so glad we met the people we did whilst staying here because if we hadnt this hotel would have absolutely ruined our holiday. DO NOT GO HERE!!!
