Last year I stayed at Hotel Guitart. Awful! I didn't want a repeat performance so booked into Hotel Acapulco. Brilliant decision. Fresh breakfast. Juliano fried eggs to order and made mini omelettes as well (he was most helpful when I wanted lemons to make lemon tea). Rooms were very clean and the staff were extremely helpful, they even put up with my dodgy pronunciation. Will stay there next year.

Room Tip: The suites are lovely! I didn't use the fitness centre or spa, which is why there are no ratings there.

We've stayed in Acapulco for two weeks in August-Sept 2013. In fact the hotel is 3 or even 2-star one. Here're the reasons:
1. Awful breakfast. Muesli are very cheap with no such additives like raisin, marmalade or nuts. Coffee from coffee-machine is anything but coffee not to mention cappuccino. You can order a brewed coffee for 1 euro, but I’ve already paid for breakfasts with coffee (not a “coffee drink’) included. Cheese is just disgusting! Only one type (smth like Gauda) and every day the same. Meanwhile in the nearest food store the box of Camembert (250 g) costs 1 euro! Sausages without meat. But plenty of eggs made in various ways. To be honest, dinners were much better.
2. Noise. Sound insulation is completely absent. You can hear everything from the other rooms and of cause from the street. God bless earplugs!
3. Paid services everywhere. You should pay for the safe, mini-bar (just to have it in the room), and even for weighting your luggage!
4. Wi-fi in the room is very weak and there’s a limit on download volume.
5. No kids club.
The only positive thing is stuff which speaks good English and even Russian. Very friendly and competent. Especially the restaurant administrator. I also can mention clean rooms, good furniture, wall mounted flat TV and a large balcony.
The hotel is surrounded by multiple hotels and lively streets which makes your good sleep almost impossible. 5-mins walk to a large Lloret beach which is overcrowded and 10-mins to Fenals beach which is much better and beautiful. But we went about 30 mins to St Boadella and St Christina beaches which are just lovely and really picturesque.

Room Tip: Rooms which facing inner yard has a very small balcony.

Dear guest,

Thank you for your review about our hotel in Tripadvisor and also for spent your time on it .

Following your review, I really apologize that you didn’t inform us at the reception or just told to our restaurant staff about your needs for breakfast because it should be easy to please you about the products that you would need to have for a nice breakfast. I’m pretty sure that our maitre or cooker would put all their effort to make you wishes possible. Please, next time don’t be shy to ask to them; we are just for helping our clients during their stay.

Our city is a very important touristic place and during the high season, lots of tourists visit our city. The Hotel is city centered located and the daily and night entertainment center are in our surroundings because of this and especially on the summer months the business are opened until late night and could be noisy. Against this we could not make anything but about our isolation in the rooms we will check what we could manage in order we could offer a better quite sleep for our guests.

Hotel Acapulco is a 4* hotel which provide free of charge all the services that the local lodgment regulation must have. As in so many other hotels some extra services must be extra pay by the clients but we will check our services and room facilities description from our website in order that no other clients could have doubt or confusion about this issue.

The WiFi at the hotel is free of charge with a limited download. All the guests have a free access using their own laptops, tablets or mobile phones. This limited download is enough and has been guaranteed for a normal use for the same technicians who provide us the WiFi net. The high WiFI traffic of the guests’ hotel can collapse the net and because of this the unlimited download has became an extra charge of 10.-Euros for an unlimited downloading.

Once again, we really welcome your comments and suggestions, because thanks to them we could improve on our services and helping better to our guests.

Got back yesterday, the hotel was nice and clean, didnt think much of the food at the evening meals and disagreed that you had to pay for water with the meal The first night i was there i was asked if i wanted a drink and i did not want one, and was never asked again for the whole week, until i did eventually asked for one, and you should had seen the look off the lady with the trolley as she had to shout through to the bar for it and never gave me my change either. That same lady i think was the bar manager and i never got a smile from her the whole week. ( If you dont like customer service then dont do the job ) Which i thought was
IGNORANT. I was on the secound floor and the maid (english lady ) was really nice and cheerful, but when it was her day off the maid to replace didnt even clean the room, just made the bed and i had already emptied the bin. All in all lovely hotel, except the Bar lady who worked on the drinks trolley in the dining room and the bar of a night. Oh yes and i never had a balconey :( .

Dear guest,

Thank you for your review about our hotel in Tripadvisor and also for spent your time on it .

Following your review, we just want to inform you that except special promotions or groups arranged from agencies which are paying for their clients drinks, normally the drinks are not included with the restaurant meals.

The clients use to order they drinks and must directly pay to the waiters at the restaurant. If they haven’t finished during the service their drink bottles, the waiters keep it on the fridge with the number of the room for the next time or meal.

Sometimes, if the guest wish to have no bottled water, the waiter could serve to them a jar or a glass of tap water without inconvenience, but always when the client ask for it or request it.
That’s no very usual but we use to do when they ask it about.

About the daily cleaning of the room, I’m pretty sure that although it was your chamber maid day off the other lady who takes care to your room, she must clean the room like the first one. Maybe it was your feeling because the British lady was more close to you and it’s normal that you will appreciate more her job. However, we will check with the manager of the cleaning ladies that we don’t have more claims about this lady who cleans your room during the day off of the other.

Finally, I have check our list of request about move the room on the last week and we haven’t got any note about because all the clients who request to move their room in case that they would prefer another one are moved as soon as the availability of the moment allow us. Our reception staff put the best in order to make the stay of our clients as nice as it will be possible.

Many thanks for share your review on tripadvisor. We hope on your next visit we can attend your wishes during your stay.

Kindly regards,

I must say this is a 3 star hotel, not 4. I guess it's more suitable for teenagers or people intending to have fun all night. The opposite hotel had just one CD which you had to listen to until midnight. Then drunk German and other lads continued making noise in the balconies till 3 or 4 am. Beds are ok, but the pillows are narrow and long, which is quite uncomfortable, at least so was for us. Wi-Fi access is a separate story, as we had to go out of the room and skype in the corridor, as the signal went off after 3 seconds. When you first enter the room, it's clean enough, but during our stay the room wasn't cleaned properly. Food was for 3 stars, not 4. Among fruits there were only apples, pears, sometimes pine-apples and water-melon. I would advise to take only breakfast, as it’s much cheaper and easier to try large variety of food outside. All in all, the hotel was ok, but when you book a 4 star hotel you expect 4 star.
Pluses:
a) all rooms have balconies
b) staff are very helpful
c) bathrooms and rooms are spacious
d) the hotel is 3 minutes walk to the bus station
e) very close to the main street/shops/bars and just 500 meters away from the sea.
Minuses:
a) if you take HB or FB, note that the drinks are not included, even simple water, you have to pay approx 2.2 euro for a coke and other drinks.
b) there is no minibar or a fridge, if you want one you have to pay 20 Euros per week.
c) safes are downstairs, you have to pay 19 Euros for the small and 20 Euros for the big one (size is almost the same), per week.
If I went to Lloret de Mar again, I would probably choose another hotel as it’s very annoying to pay for all basic things all the time.

Room Tip: The rooms with pool view are sunny in the afternoon and if you want a cool room, keep the curtains closed.

Dear guest,

Thank you very much for your visit and spend your time to write down in Tripadvisor your review.
We really appreciate your comments and we inform to the different department about the services that we have to improve or have special care about.

We really apologize for the noise around us from the entertainment program from the hotels of our surroundings.

This season 2.013 we have renovated nearly 70 rooms and we are on the process to renovate the reception, hall and saloon. We hope that on the following months we could finish the new renovations and you could have the chance to visit us again.

Once again, thank you very much for your report.

Kindly regards,

I must say that I am very surprised that this hotel is ranked so high i Lloret de Mar. Either is the standard very low in this town or the tourists are only used with two star hotels.

It is not a bad hotel - but it is really in need of a huge renovation. The restaurant and bar are in a very bad condition. The breakfast is a total scam and the smell in the breakfast restaurant is terrible.

We had an apartment. This room was new or new renovated and in a very good condition and perfect fitted for a family of four.

The worst thing with this hotel is the noise. It was almost impossible to sleep before 4 in the morning caused by all the young English boys screaming and behaving bad. This hotel must be perfect for any British teenager, but for a family it is not very nice.

Room Tip: If you are staying here - go for the apartments.
