“Friendliest staff in Top Royal”
Reviewed January 22, 2013

A weeks holiday in Hotel Royal Beach in early November proved to be much better than expected thanks in no small way to the ever friendly staff in a clean and welcoming hotel. Always smiling and helpful with local information. With a local bus stop right at the door getting about was easy n cheap with a bus every 20 mins doing a big circle round the area. And although the hotel is situated in a quieter area there are abundant bars and cafes within a couple of hundred meters (the robin hood across the road from the hotel is excellent value for money). Nightly entertainment at the hotel was excellent with early evening fun for the kids then later in the evening for the adults. The entertainment was very much geared towards the more mature guests ( 40+). By this time of the year many of the bars/shops/cafes were closing down for the season but for those wanting a quieter holiday this was no bad thing. The large number of organised coach tours using the hotel as a 1 or 2 night base is testament to its popularity. One word of warning....I was there self catering but for the all inclusive guests a section of the bar and staff are set aside for their service and it got quite busy even so late in the season and i meet several all inclusive guests who preferred to eat out as the choice's on offer were restricted. The few (and they were very few) more boisterous guests and late night revelers were handled tactfully but firmly. One rather intoxicated chap was promptly escorted out of the bar when he his antics on the dance floor got a little - shall we say suggestive. While most people found it rather funny/comical it was early and there were kids present but the floor staff dealt with the situation promptly and quietly. All in all a very well run and clean hotel with great staff. Among my list for a repeat visit.

Room Tip: Rooms with pool views get the best of the sun while those with outer views are overlooking the main...

Me and my mum booked our holiday to the casino royale, this place was like bay root , dirty horrible noisy hotel full of yobs . We changed to royal beach the next day and it was like a different world I was amazed they was run by the same company , people moan about the food and the drinks system , you are paying for a cheap all inclusive hotel you cannot expect to be waited on like a 5* restaurant you get wat u pay for ( abit more with this clean hotel) I am returning with my children in march and really looking forward to it the location for the beach is ideAl

We went for 4 days with friends.Beware too as we were charged tourist tax which as just been introduced €1 each per day. It was cheap and we did enjoy ourselves but I have stayed at better hotels for same price. The food was just ok plenty of variety but the quality was just fair. We ate out a few times because of this. Drinks are ok the card system was a bit poor but we managed to get a few extra cards when people were leaving they gave us them. The rooms are clean and nice so no problem there. Entertainment was the usual quiz, karaoke sort if thing.

The location is nice, there's a nice pub round the corner El Pub and the owners are really friendly and welcoming. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to the centre but only 5 mins to beach. All in all we had a good time but I would not stay here for my main holiday.

I have just returned from an express journey to Lloret de Mar run by Just Go holidays starting on the 3rd of November 2012,and ending on the 11th to be fair we expected an arduous trip nonstop to Lloret de Mar but it could have been made enjoyable if it were not for the 2 (allegedly it seemed) ex lorry drivers that conducted the trip, they talked in an accent straight out of an EASTENDERS episode (Frank Butcher) and stopped the coach for breaks which I must admit every two and a half to three hours (which you needed) mainly so they could have their smoke break ( which by the way you could smell on their body every time they came near you... YUUK).they offered the passengers tea & coffee during the trip which cost 1 euro or 80p which we found out later from the passengers on another Just Go coach charged them 50p a cup! so we assumed that it was up to the drivers what they charged for drinks (not very professional) but what was even worse was the condition of the drinks area on the coach, sugar packet left opened the entire holiday money container left open right buy the drink making facility and the tea towel which at the beginning of the trip was so dirty I would not have used it for wiping the oil of a dipstick so you can only imagined what it was like after 9 days of the trip (still not changed) also they were making deals on certain trips with the operators which appeared on the face of it to give you a good deal but we found out later buy asking the locals the real price for that particular trip & it was not what he quoted, strange.
The hotel itself was quite good the rooms were kept clean and new towels every day, the food was ok too that coming from a vegetarian but my wife felt it was ok for the money we paid. The trouble came in the form of the other guests especially at night unfortunately over the 6 day period we were there every night into the early hours of the morning we woken buy noisy inconsiderate people, in some cases it was deliberately banging and slamming of doors, we complained to the reception & I must admit they did put a stop to the problem each time we complained (3 times) but buy this time we had not got a good night’s sleep. The hotel had a fast turnover of young student types 40 or more at a time only staying one night, then there were the stag & hen party guests (which were the main cause of the noise at night) they took over the evening entertainment which bearing in mind the majority of guests were in their retirement years there were the usual complaints but to be fair they too were paying guests so not a lot could be done. But I do feel Just Go let us down slightly by not telling us that we had to pay a Tourist Tax of 1euro a night (12 euros in all for the 2 of us) on arrival & the quality of the drivers cleanliness, still they did manage to get us there & back safely.
I have tried to be impartial in my description of the whole package holiday & the 3 guests I was travelling with agreed with my comments.

Room Tip: It all depends on the consideration of the other guests especially above you, unfortunately over the...

Food... If you like oily burnt pasta, soggy chips and bread buns harder than a house brick you will be fine, we mostly ate at mcdonalds which defeats the point in going all inclusive, drinks... No they are not watered down, there local drinks so all half the strength, you can get merry off them but it takes a lot! I gave the barman 10 euro and he gave me smirnoff all night which was nice, rooms... The rooms are good for 2 people, no more! You get single beds pushed together, the walls are paper thin so you get woke up all hours by stag and hen do's, or by the maids! Our balcony door didnt lock, our room door didnt lock, and the maids only made the beds once, they charge you visitors tax which the holiday companys wont tell you about, it was 14 euro for 2 of us for 7 days, on our second last night we recieved leffers off the hotel telling us they were closing and we had to move hotels to the royal star along the road! Thanks for telling us sooner? Anyways it turned out the royal star was 100x better than this place! They have an indoor and outdoor pool, food is better, same silly drinks system with the plastic beakers and stupid cards... But atleast they had 2 ques and 2 tills so you got a drink quick! We paid £477 for 2 of us for 7 nights all inclusive, so couldnt really complain... my advice is stay at the royal star, steer clear of the gran casino coz its a dump, royal beach is ok but its a canny walk into the town centre

The hotel is not a 4 star as it says, it is more a 3 star hotel, which needs some attention. However, the hotel is clean and tidy and most of the staff are friendly and polite. Be warned; if you are a fussy eater then you will have problems with the food here. My wife began to hanker for some real food at about the fourth day, so we ended up going to a very nice pub/ restaurant across the road. The food is as you would expect, is aimed at the Spanish and French clientele, and some of it though may taste nice looked like it was boiled beyond all existence. The best description is anaemic. the only other issue we found, as well as others who put their review on this hotel is the drinks fiasco with the one drink per person per visit. All this does is create unnecessary queues; but don't be fooled with the all inclusive drinks, they are watered down. So don't go expecting to get merry every night. I tried and found the only way was to go over to the shop opposite and buy a bottle of wine. Note, that if you come away during the Autumn, Winter season a lot of the recommended restaurants are shut until the Spring. this also goes for some of the main theme and water parks. if I was asked would I come back here again.......... no is the answer. We have tried this holiday and found it is not for us.

well we have just returned from this place after seven day
the holiday should have been staying at the casino royale but the travel company failed to email the hotel to inform them of our stay with them, so we was put in the above.
the food was average mostley cold, but a wide chioce the rooms where nice and clean but the beds could do with replaceing as they where dated and hard.
new towels each day and the bedding change twice a week, it was a very noisey hotel with kids running up and down the hallway each day and night while there mum and dads where entertaning themselves at the bar,you had to wait around 20 mins to get a drink at the bar and when you did it was in a plastic type cup entertanment was poor but what do you want for a cheap hloiday the transfers took two hours to get to the airport with no hot or cold drink on offer from the hotel was not very nice for the kids etc, it would have been nice if the hotel would have plug in the coffee machine ready for when you left so you could have had a drink but it was 06.20 so maybe a bit too early for them
just to end this there is a eating house up the road very expensive and rubbish, find somewhere eles if you like type of food.wifi 18 euros a week also very expensive
i thought i would add there was a gentleman staying at this hotel he went to the market in lloret de mar he had his wallet stolen out of his trs pocket lots of nasty pepole about please be careful !! to sum up this place was never a four star mybe three rateing would we go back no thanks we are now going to bed to catch up on the sleep less nights we lost at the lloret de mar.
well done to ryanair fab flight on time and cheap, hope this helps!!
