“Always our favourite when we're in Lloret”
Reviewed September 6, 2013

We've been going to El Romaní for years now, and the quality of service, food and an excellent choice of wines has never disappointed. Sant Pere street is in the very centre of town, within sight of the wonderfully decorated parochial church. Which in turn is very close to the lovely maritime passage and the beach. Lloret has been much maligned over the years, but if you dodge the nightlife crowds, there is a lot to admire and enjoy. (Above all, el Romaní)! The owners will want to make you feel at home, and their staff stay for years, which shows how dedicated and content they are. El Romaní built its reputation on the quality of its tapas and above all the award-winning montaditos (single portions on a toothpick - very inventive - our favourite is the crabmeat, followed closely by the cheese and mushroom-or-leek tartlets). These are made by the chef/owner and brought up from the kitchen to replenish the rapidly-disappearing supplies behind their glass cabinets on the bar. Here they also serve main meals and "menus", but these seem to us to be secondary in importance. The area around the bar is narrow, and a recent reconfiguration means that the owners have aimed to bring in those who, at certain times of day, want only a coffee or tea, a glass of wine or a "short". Press on past, and you will find that the room opens up at the back, with tables for four, six or more. Enjoy the montaditos and tapas at any time of day! On the blackboard you'll find a good choice of recommended wines. They also have a catering service.

“What a pleasant surprise”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

Went here after reading about it at tripadvisor. This restaurant does not look special but the service and atmosphere is very nice. The small dishes and tapas were fantastic and the price excellent. Could have spent many evenings here and will come back if I return to this city.
