Near center of town with a very friendly staff. Free parking nearby. Rooms are very quiet and beds are comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Need to run the AC to get rid of the musty smell. Close to the beaches and waterfront. Good restaurant recommendation by staff at Da Giusti with a 10% discount.

My wife and I spent a week at this hotel in early July. We arrived late at night and the room was not suitable for us because it was to small and on the first floor reached by a very narrow spiral staircase. The young receptionist Eleni said she would try and change our room the following morning. We were met the following morning by Marta another young and charming recetionist who showed us a much bigger room in the ground floor with a bigger bathroon. We took the room and I was happy with the way both receptionists had dealt with our problem.
The Cortile is spread across three buildings in the old part of Trapani. The breakfast was in a small but tastefully decorated salon on the ground floor of one of the buildings. The meal itself was a simple continental breakfast but we enjoyed it. The addition of boiled eggs would have made a difference and a little more choice for Northern Europeans!
The staff were excellent, I met the owners once breifly and they seemed a very nice couple.
I always measure a hotel by four criteria and they are: Good Staff: Is the hotel cared for: Is it clean: value for money. The answer was yes to those questions so I whay more can I say!

Room Tip: Always ask for a ground floor room [there is no lift] especially if you are 65 years of age + Room n...

Positive-staff is friendly, rooms are very clean, free wifi, near town center, near beach.

Negative-breakfast is good but everyday the same. At first we got a room at ground floor that had one window and with the smell of mold. They had changed the room with no complications. Wifi doesn't work on the second floor, because the signal range is to weak.

Lovely small hotel, very comfortable, very close to Trapani Train and bus station and old city centre.
Nice smell everywhere, very clean and oh all that jazz makes your stay soo pleasant. Nice breakfast too... an air conditioning unit in the room, thats luxury... not even 5 star hotels have this.. most of them control the central ac system as they please... at this hotel its all yours day and night.
Would def go there again. Great Staff very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: All rooms are nicely furnished.

We are very sorry that we have stayed in Il Cortile di Venere only one night. The room was great: very cosy and comfortable, but also very elegant with all necessary facilities. Also the breakfast was surprisingly good with sweets and cakes as well as traditional cheese and salami. This was delicious. The staff was very helpful and polite. There was no problem with our late arrival. The hotel is located near the railway station and bus stops from/to Palermo and Trapani Airport.
This place seems to be ideal for honey moon or any romantic journey.
(The lack of lift could be a problem for elderly guests).

This hotel is so beautiful, clean & cosy! The atmosphere is amazing! I am a huge music lover and they play really good jazz music throughout the whole hotel all day long. You can opt to switch it off, but I really enjoyed waking up to it...
I also liked the privacy & independence there - the hotel is basically couple of town-houses with a common 'yard', which made me feel as if I was staying in a little flat, rather than in a hotel (didn't ever need to go through the reception or bump into people slightly drunk at 3am).
The breakfast was very nice as well..
Something which could be improved: I could hear the couple above me a little too well... I had a single room (pretty good size single, to be honest) it was located in extended area of the hotel and it unfortunately wasn't too well isolated... The ceiling was lovely and high, but I could hear what people above me were up to. I couldn't hear anything from the rooms next to me, so I think its only that extended corner of the hotel which needs to be 'soundproof' a little... There is a non-smoking policy in the hotel which I really appreciated, but the couple above me ignored it & smoked in the middle of the night and I could smell it very well... But again I don't think all the rooms have that problem.
The hotel staff were very nice and friendly, but I would appreciate if I got more informations regarding the transport from them.. I was going to San Vito Lo Capo after I checked out & the day before I left I asked about the transport.. They told me there are busses going there every day, but they couldn't tell me anything specific... So I went to this information centre across the road, got the bus timetable (wrong one - didn't include Sundays & public holidays!) & only after waiting for the bus for 3hours I found out there were no busses going on Sundays! The taxi was rather expensive (£70), so if I had known about it before I would have made different plans... Italians seem to take their Sundays & siestas very seriously, which can be a bit of a surprise coming from London, so I would really appreciate if the hotel I stayed at had informations about such things.
Overall though, I really enjoyed my stay at the Cortile di Venere and I would recommend it.
