“B&B in a great location”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

Positive-staff is friendly, rooms are very clean, free wifi, near town center, near beach.

Negative-breakfast is good but everyday the same. At first we got a room at ground floor that had one window and with the smell of mold. They had changed the room with no complications. Wifi doesn't work on the second floor, because the signal range is to weak.

Lovely small hotel, very comfortable, very close to Trapani Train and bus station and old city centre.
Nice smell everywhere, very clean and oh all that jazz makes your stay soo pleasant. Nice breakfast too... an air conditioning unit in the room, thats luxury... not even 5 star hotels have this.. most of them control the central ac system as they please... at this hotel its all yours day and night.
Would def go there again. Great Staff very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: All rooms are nicely furnished.

We are very sorry that we have stayed in Il Cortile di Venere only one night. The room was great: very cosy and comfortable, but also very elegant with all necessary facilities. Also the breakfast was surprisingly good with sweets and cakes as well as traditional cheese and salami. This was delicious. The staff was very helpful and polite. There was no problem with our late arrival. The hotel is located near the railway station and bus stops from/to Palermo and Trapani Airport.
This place seems to be ideal for honey moon or any romantic journey.
(The lack of lift could be a problem for elderly guests).

We were there from 22nd May till 26th May. Everything was OK. The accomodation was excellent - nice smell everywhere. The stuff was very kind. The breakfast was good. I can recomend this accomodation for holiday. Very close to centre, port and beach.

This hotel is so beautiful, clean & cosy! The atmosphere is amazing! I am a huge music lover and they play really good jazz music throughout the whole hotel all day long. You can opt to switch it off, but I really enjoyed waking up to it...
I also liked the privacy & independence there - the hotel is basically couple of town-houses with a common 'yard', which made me feel as if I was staying in a little flat, rather than in a hotel (didn't ever need to go through the reception or bump into people slightly drunk at 3am).
The breakfast was very nice as well..
Something which could be improved: I could hear the couple above me a little too well... I had a single room (pretty good size single, to be honest) it was located in extended area of the hotel and it unfortunately wasn't too well isolated... The ceiling was lovely and high, but I could hear what people above me were up to. I couldn't hear anything from the rooms next to me, so I think its only that extended corner of the hotel which needs to be 'soundproof' a little... There is a non-smoking policy in the hotel which I really appreciated, but the couple above me ignored it & smoked in the middle of the night and I could smell it very well... But again I don't think all the rooms have that problem.
The hotel staff were very nice and friendly, but I would appreciate if I got more informations regarding the transport from them.. I was going to San Vito Lo Capo after I checked out & the day before I left I asked about the transport.. They told me there are busses going there every day, but they couldn't tell me anything specific... So I went to this information centre across the road, got the bus timetable (wrong one - didn't include Sundays & public holidays!) & only after waiting for the bus for 3hours I found out there were no busses going on Sundays! The taxi was rather expensive (£70), so if I had known about it before I would have made different plans... Italians seem to take their Sundays & siestas very seriously, which can be a bit of a surprise coming from London, so I would really appreciate if the hotel I stayed at had informations about such things.
Overall though, I really enjoyed my stay at the Cortile di Venere and I would recommend it.

My partner and I have just come back from 4 days in Trapani. We booked this b/b online and unfortunately the only room available was a triple and we were still charged €80 per night even if facilities provided were for 2, ie towels, use of water, b'fast. Personally I expected a bit of a discount. Tip 1 Book early so you won't be overcharged. We took the airport bus and stopped along the sea as driver told us we were close. It was very difficult to find as no signs lead you to the hotel. The Trapanesi (?) are really helpful and obliging...the many people we asked not only gave us directions but actually accompanied us.Tip 2: stop at the bus station, it's close. The welcome was warm and friendly. The receptionist, although she is more like a girl Friday with very good PR qualities was very friendly. She took us to our room. Very nice room and bathroom and the bed very comfortable. The hotel is certainly tastefully furnished and the background jazz music was excellent. It was also a nice touch to be woken by mellow jazz at 0830. Unfortunately we were there on the 25 April. Everything was closed and buses didn't work so it was quite an expensive taxi trip to Erice. Tip 3: avoid travelling on public holidays in Italy. One problem, actually two, with the bathroom is that it is quite cold and the light is too dim. You can hardly manage to put your make-up on. Tip 4 for management: put better light above the magnifying mirror please. Tip 5 for management: there is no telephone in the room at all and if one is alone and needs help, there's no way he can get in touch with reception, which is outside. Tip 6 if anyone is going to Segesta and it certainly is worth a visit, last bus back is at 4pm!! very inconvenient...so go in the morning.Unfortunately we had to find this out ourselves. We were told that we had wifi in the room but I twice pointed out that there was no connection, with no results. The messages come in only just outside reception before you go to your room. Tip 7 management should see to this as in this day and age wifi is expected and at €80 a night it's the least they can offer. Final Tip 8: Be prepared: the evening before we left we were told they don't take cards, only cash! Very, very unusual. Will we go there again? maybe.

Room Tip: Tips are given above.
