Unkempt and littered all over, we left after 5 minutes. Photo opps from the roads are better than the museum.

We were given a guided tour of the museum in English and learned quite la lot. I certainly learned to appreciate how tough manual labor can be!

This place is amazing. Try to plan your visit in the late afternoon. You will be rewarded with stunning images of the sun setting on the mounds of salt and sea. Reds, blues, and greens light up the evening. Have aperitivo at the bar next to the museum. Bring a camera, you will need it!

To be honest I didn't know what to expect from this place and the truth is it surprised me in a good way. This place is an old "salina", which means they make salt from the sea water. They also have the restaurant and the museum, where for 5 euros p.p. groups of visitors learn about the process of extracting the salt from the water, the tools and techniques used before, and nowadays. All with a guide that explains everything. As I entered the museum I thought it could be a little boring but it was fun and interesting, actually! Later we had an excellent meal at the restaurant. Food was great, service could be better, but I strongly recommend it anyway.

this was a really nice experience, we really enjoyed the visit to this place. The person taking care of this place gave us an explanation on the process of salt making through out the years. He also explained about the things used for making salt... Very interesting indeed... Not to be missed if you are visiting Trapani....
