Stayed her unexpectedly for 2 nights. The accommodation was great with very helpful staff. We found it a very good base to explore the area which is very easily accessible. We enjoyed the guidance and recommendation of the staff. The rooms are big and spacious. There is a superb breakfast served on the roof top. Excellent

The Residence La Gancia must be a great place. The other TA reviews are consistent and mostly excellent so I have to feel that my review must be due to the room we were given. It was a busy weekend and we were just passing through for one night so we given a triple room in a very dark corner of the hotel with no view whatsoever. The room was generally clean but it was disconcerting that a posted sign said that the water was not potable in the hotel. We later found out that this was true in all of Trapani! Amazing in the 21st Century in Italy. Nonetheless, the area that the Residence Gancia is located in is excellent with a fabulous Patisseria below and several good restaurants nearby. The main Corso is nearby and one can shop or just stroll after dinner as many of the Trapanese do. Give it a try but ensure that your room has a view AND some daylight!

Room Tip: Get a room with a view!

went to trapani for 2 nights. stayed in the beautiful hotel which is a renovated old building. The room was spacious with an additional space which had a mini kitchen hidden away. The bathroom was large, shower big enough for 2 people! The roof top bar was excellent, cocktails very well made and free appertisers were very nice. The breakfast had a good choice of jams, honeys and scilian pastries. The hotel is close to all the nightlife and to the shops during the day. The reception went out of their way to help me when i needed to find a chemist on a saturday afternoon (they are usually closed at this time). Would definately stay here again.

The best of the center of Trapani, at La Gancia, minutes to the cathedral, shopping, night life, and wonderful restaurants. Need a navigator to find it.
Right next to the sea wall and the old Fish Market.

Room Tip: Request a room with a view. Some rooms large enough to accomodate a 3rd person.

We had a room on the third floor looking over the fishmarket. We saw an ancient well on the groundfloor, tiles on our ceiling, a place in the sun on the fourth floor. But most striking was the breakfest room on the top, full of light and the possibility to eat outside in the sun.

We opted for a room with a view and were not disappointed. We got a spacious room with a small living area and kitchen, with a lovely outlook both towards the port and towards Erice. The bedroom was large with plenty of storage. There was a huge shower with choice of shower heads! Everything was spotless and very comfortable.

The locations is also fabulous. Just around the corner is the main pedestrianised part of the old city, lined with lovely old buildings. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from and it's a short stroll from the sea front.

The hotel doesn't have it's own garage but there is space to pull in and drop off bags, and plenty of public parking just down the road at a cost of about EUR 0.80 an hour - but free over night.

The staff are very helpful and there is a fabulous roof top bar where you can watch the sun go down. Breakfast is also served there.

This hotel is a great choice in Trapani.

We have been here for 3 nights and must leave tomorrow for our next stop. I echo the praise that all other reviewers have given this hotel. The location is as close to the Mediterranian Sea as you can get without getting your feet wet. The rooms are large, very clean and have everything a traveller needs plus more. There is even a small kitchen hidden behind the doors of the cupboard. It was a bit of a challenge to find but once we figured it out it has been a great base for exploration of Trapani and Western Sicily. Others have praised Rosanna and the staff and so do I. There was nothing that they wouldn't do to make you stay enjoyable. This is the place to stay to tour Western Sicily. It is a value for the high quality and service that we found here.
