Just returned from an amazing holiday with friends and wanted to share our experience.
We arrived in Heraklion airport and was our first visit to Crete. A scenic drive to the Villa (a car is essential) stopping off at a Taverna suggested by the owner.
The directions were easy to follow and as we turned off the main road we could see the impressive Villa.
Inside it was everything we hoped for, spacious, inviting, welcome food pack, much appreciated bottle of wine, well stocked cupboards etc.
There were plenty of sunloungers, comfy seats and warm pool. We particularly loved the barbecue area and spent many a happy hour there.
The owners had recommended several places to visit and eat which was very helpful. We loved the Tavernas in the mountains and walking through the centuries old villages. Did I mention the Tavernas on the beach?
Everyone was so friendly, never had a disappoining meal, and the prices were exceptionally reasonable.
Do not miss Spinalonga. I had read a book by Victoria Heslop titled The Island and it was a delight to catch the ferry and visit it.
Our 10 days holiday was far too short and we are already planning our next visit.

A huge and very comfortable villa with amazing pool and outside space. Villa was very well presented. Plenty of space for two families or an extended family group. We loved the quiet location only a short drive from low key pleasant resort. Crete in April is beautiful and we got a warm welcome.

My husband and I enjoyed our week with the family SO much that we forgot to write in the visitors' book! Babies and oldies' had a wonderful time soaking up the sunshine, playing in the solar-warmed pool and exploring the area on foot and by car. It was like home from home with all the creature comforts and vary tastefully furnished. The villa, in a peaceful setting more than lived up to expectation with wonderful views and birdsong all around. The pool staff were discrete but friendly. Thanks too to Ariete. I do hope we can go back.

After a quick but valuable search around South East Crete, this villa stood out meeting requirements for...
1. Size (fit a party of up to 10)
2. Location (near our favourite Makri Gialos, but secluded enough)
3. Value (luxury but well priced)
4. Quality (everything is 5 star about this villa)
5. Air con (invaluable!)
Great communication from the owner (Steve) and well looked after by the local agent, this met and exceeded every expectation.
You need a car, it's more than a walk to Makri Gialos but that was factored in from the start and was never an inconvenience.
We spent most of our time around the pool in the 30c heat, using all the facilities. A fantastic holiday and can't fault anything about Villa Danae.

Having been to the south of crete on a couple of occasions this was by far the best location, villa, and service I have ever experienced on the island. From the very start the owners Kay and Steve bent over backwards to ensure everything was perfect for our holiday.
The villa itself is stunning, with amazing views, immaculate rooms and a brilliant heated pool.
Would recommend this to absolutely anyone. Although watch out for the olive groves or you'll end up knee deep in mud!

Villa Danae is a beautiful, large villa. Its location is remote and extremely peaceful just what you need to relax.
The Villa is extremely spacious, we were a group of ten with plenty of space.
The pool was great especially with the kids and plenty of sun beds for the adults to soak up the lovely Crete weather.
The locals were lovely especially the family from the Restaurant Apospertis ,Greek food is there passion and i would recommend them.
We had an amazing holiday.
