Welcome Hotel Bad Arolsen
Ranked #1 of 4 Hotels in Bad Arolsen
Reviewed July 20, 2012

The Hotel is Placed in the central area of Bad Arolsen (country side) near a nice king/queen garden/castle. The small is pretty quiet and amazing for country landscapes. The hotel has a really confortable Restaurant with large selection of local dishes.
The rooms on the top floor are really special because divided in 2 floors: entrance room floor as dining area with toilet and a top side floor with bed just at bottom of roof. The overall service is appreciable good and customer satisfaction is considered as most important target. Rooms are also equipped with wi-fi for Internet connection.
The holtel has also swimming pool with thermal treatments.

The hotel who is situated close to the centre of a small village needs some refreshment , but is nevertheless still a good hotel with very friendly personnel and lot of them speaks English. The rooms are clean , sufficient in size and good equiped. They have also a very good accommodation for wellness with several different sauna's where off some special ones. The breakfast is enjoyable , when good weather on a enclosed terras and you can have a good dinner for a reasonable price.

The rooms at this nice and clean hotel desperately need an update, although they are clean and tidy. The restaurant is equally old fashioned, and somewhat too pretentious. The food is quite expensive, but the chef is obviously not able to cook quite as well as the rates on the menu would suggest. At least it did not meet our expectations ... The buffet though was even of less quality. Breakfast is good, though it may be very busy with large groups of people.

The staff is very friendly and polite, which might not be said for all of the guestst at this hotel. The sauna/wellness, which is very nice, modern and clean, is a no textile area, however some people prefer to offend other guests by parading in bathing suits, and ignore requests from guests to respect the rules. This is something the staff should keep in mind, because this kind of offensive behaviour can not be tolerated in the environment of a spa, which should be safe.

If the hotel has refurbished and can assure us that the restaurant and the sauna have improved on some things, we would certainly return here.

I was one of 40 people that was the first group of genealogists to visit the International Tracing Service at Bad Arolsen. The hotel was conveniently located a few minutes walk from ITS.
When I walked into my hotel room I realised it faced the internal garden. This garden has the potential to be a delightful space; unfortunately this potential has not been realised and the result is rather a depressing outlook.
The ladies at Reception were kind enough to allow me to change rooms and gave me a room that faced out, overlooking a grassed area. Being a ground floor room meant that it had a small outdoor seating area with a table and 2 chairs. I only realised later that whilst some rooms have WiFi, this one did not. However, WiFi was available in the lobby and cafe.
The room had 2 single beds pushed together and was spotlessly clean and comfortable.
The only free English TV was CNN.
Breakfast was included and offered a large selection (including a delicious variety of different breads and rolls and jams).
There was one catered function in the hotel. The food was tasty and the price reasonable.
The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly and I would certainly stay here again.
