Patalpani waterfall is one of the must places to be visited during Monsoon. The waterfall is really worth seeing and also the surrounding natural beauty. It's a perfect place for a day outing / picnic. It depends on how much time you want to spend there from 1 hour to couple of hours.
Needs to careful. Do not go near the water as it may be dangerous. In past, many causality had been reported.
One can see many birds and monkeys (people feed Butta - Corn).
There is no direct public transport available. There is a train service (Mhow-Khandwa meter gauge line) and get down at Patalpani station and needs about 10-15 minutes walking. Other option is to go by our own vehicle. It is about 6 Km from Mhow railway station. Road is OK.
There is only one shop which serve tea, samosa etc. So, it is advisable to carry food/lunch. Parking facility is available.

I liked everything about this classic Palace. The place is amazing during monsoon. You need to be very cautious though. Since the flow of the water is not uniform. Suddenly the flow increases and take you along.n this place is the most beautiful place in and around indore during monsoon season.

Patalpani waterfalls was awesome in Jan,2013 despite the less volume of water. I reached there at 6 A.M but the entrance to the waterfall was closed so i somehow jumped over the fence and reached the viewpoint. With no other soul in sight it was absolutely beautiful with the sound of gushing cascade and chirping of birds. The entire area was badly littered by tourists more so the place where the river takes the plunge. Since there was hardly any water in the river so i crossed it and walked inside a reserve forest for sometime (Quite serene) and came back. The place was badly maintained with litter all around and hardly anything decent to eat. Though for the sheer beauty of the place; it's shortcomings can be overlooked. It would certainly be 100 times more scenic during monsoon.

The place is amazing during monsoon. You need to be very cautious though. Since the flow of the water is not uniform. Suddenly the flow increases and take you along. There has been few casualties due to this. If you are cautious than this place is the most beautiful place in and around indore during monsoon season.

Patalpani waterfall is the best place to visit especially in the rains.
It's actually very beautiful. A very good picnic spot. Only thing you take care of is the waterfall. Above the waterfall, on the flat area from where the water comes, is a river like body, never, especially in rains, never ever dare to go and sit over there. That place is very risky. The force of water is low but no one can ever say when it gets high. The pressure of water does get so high that even a good swimmer may not be able to save himself. many accidents have took place there, be safe enjoy your picnic!!
